"Why are you asking me that?" Diana furrowed her brow, her eyes questioning Helena. "You were the one who said he died right in front of you."
Helena swallowed hard. She turned her face away, gazing out of the window. In her mind's eye, she could see Ethan's face shrouded in black cloth. It was the mandatory procedure in Akiya for executions, and Ethan had faced it because he was a feared sorcerer who could manipulate opponents with his eyes.
It seemed like a reasonable explanation, but was it true?
