บท 3: Chapter Three

The night lasted a long time, and has Aaron wiped the blood away with a clean towel, he couldn't keep himself from thinking about Zane and Lucifer. Mainly what would've happened had Lucifer not been there to stop him? Would Zane have killed him? It would've been his word against his own? And besides from the actions of Lucifer's father, Judge Payne, Aaron had a feeling the sentence wasn't going to go to Zane; Not when the judge had it out for Aaron since the moment he caught him in court, more times than Aaron cared to admit. Mainly the crimes had been started by his own actions, but the time with Alec was different. Difference in fact, the means to a need to fight Zane, wasn't simply because Aaron wanted to beat up the warm one, Zane certainly wasn't worth being punished. No, it was a much greater need to fight Zane. Alec's honour. His honour. Zane had gotten in the way of that, tried to take Alec on simply because Zane didn't agree with Alec falling in love with a cold one.

The other reason, the two were both males. It was clear Zane was simply homophobic, but he had athroirate. Most warm ones believed and followed him. Not many cold ones could say the same for Aaron. Not a single one would be able to stand alongside him, against Zane. There was simply no business needing for any of them to get their hands dirty. Most warm ones were simply hot headed, awful tempers, and not a lot of patience. So, it was a loss cause to even think for a moment, that Zane was going to get away with his words. But tonight, for a second time. He'd gotten away.

Aaron bit angrily down against his bottom lip. Chewing on it as hard as he could, almost to the point of making it bleed, if it wasn't for his mother who distracted him for a moment, to make him stop. She took a light seat next to him, where he saw on the couch, and as awkward as he felt knowing his mothers eyes were pressed on him, Aaron turned so he could make eye contact with her. Now was his chance to talk to her face to face, since what happened with his father.

''I thought of Dad today, while I was fighting Zane.''

''And? What'd you see?'' Whispered Clara. ''Was he right next to you? Cheering you on, like he used to? I remember those days, your father was so proud when you learned to master your powers for the first time. I even remember the first ability you got down. It was your ice skin. How your father tried so many times to break through your ice, he could never even get a crack in.'' She held her hand up to her face lightly, try as she could to hide her tiny bit of laughter, as Aaron mustered a soft smile.

''He's proud of you, I know he is. So am I.''

''I appericate that mom...but you shouldn't be. I got Alec sentenced to Earth today, alone. I wasn't even allowed to go in his place, even though I was the one who was fighting with Zane....'' Aaron chocked.

''You felt you needed to defend Alec, which is very noble of you son. I'm sure Alec thought you were very brave, and I'm sure it made him love you even more.'' Clara pointed out, as she stroked her son's blood stained palm. ''You missed a spot.'' She lightly reached for the towel Aaron had planted on his lap, and lightly rubbed it along Aaron's hand. Making sure she didn't stop till the blood was all gone.

''I have to get to Earth, Mom. I have to make sure he's alright, I have to get his memory back! He didn't deserve what happened to him! I derserve to be banished to Earth!'' As Aaron's tone of voice grew with every bit of adrenaline he felt coursing through his veins, his mother removed the wet soothing towel from his skin, as the light of her eyes blew into his soul, the two of them remembering a memory, of the three of them, when Aaron could feel his dad's smile on him at all times. How it felt odd to remember such a memory. How long it had been since he'd spoken to him.

His father was one of the greatest cold ones he ever knew! Able to conquer any sort of ice he wanted, and be able to create a super powerful ice skin, he couldn't imagine anyone being able to break it. His mom had always said, his father would try and break his ice skin, but always seemed to fail, since his skin was closely matched to that of his fathers. Aaron could always smile when he heard that story. He knew his father was proud and cared for him and his mother deeply, but as he thought about his father more, and more, it only brought heartbreak and anger. He could never understand what it was, that caused his father to leave them?

And the sad thing was, his father didn't even move that far away. He had a house, right next store to Judge Payne, and Lucifer. The bastard didn't even have the balls to leave the village, just leave the house. Anger exploded all over Aaron's body, as he felt his mom's heavy stare on him.

''Bastard'' he whispered.

''Your father cared about us, deep down inside he still does. I like to think of him as the same person he once was, I couldn't imagine my thoughts seeing him as anything else.'' Clara mumbled under her breath.

''I'm surprised you feel that way, Mom. Dad may have cared about us before, but he doesn't anymore. He's a lonely coward, who hates his family....I can promise I'll never turn out like him!'' Aaron shouted.

''He wouldn't want you getting so angry about this, Aaron? He'd want you to be happy, to care about those who're still with you? All this anger, isn't healthy.''

''I can't help it, its how I feel...With Alec gone, and it being my fault? How else am I supposed to feel....'' Aaron rose from his spot on the couch as slowly as he could. And as he did, a strange pain in his back started to bother him. He tried to ignore it as best he could, but he could see in the corner of his eye, his mothers eyes were pressed deeply onto him. Noticing the odd pain, and the hidden expressions he was trying to hide from her.

''Those cuts weren't the only things, you got from that fight? Were they?'' She scolded him in a rather deep voice, then her once sweet one. Aaron tried to play it off as nothing, but felt his body come to a halt, when he felt his mothers hand grab his wrist, pulling him back, to the point where the back of his heels practically stabbed into the front of the couch. He pulled back a little, as he felt his mothers angry expression, and body language, as the rapid heat of burning flames, lit up the entire surroundings.

He'd angered his mother, which avativated her warm one side. Aaron always hated his mothers warm one side, mainly cause as a child it scared him. As a young child, being the only cold one in the family since his father's absence, he could never be sure he could be comfortable around warm ones, that being before he met Alec.

''Its just a little back pain, is all.....stop worrying about me.'' His mother stared at him with very heated eyes now, her whole body was covered head to toe with flames. Her skin was orange, and her hair as well. Her eyes were bright orange, and her clothing had vanished, leaving behind nothing but her flames to cover her. She'd activated her true form, just like Zane had during the fight. Shallowing his fear, Aaron turned himself around so he couldn't see her anymore, and lightly sighed. How he wanted so badly to be able to activate his true form...but against his own mother? There was no way he was going to fight against her, simply because she was doing her job, and worrying about him.

He'd been so close to being able to transform during his fight with Zane, had it not been for Lucifer, he'd might've been able to finally understand what it felt like, when your entire body feels like the temperature of a snowman. How he wished for a little more time....

Aaron felt the blazing heat vanish quickly, followed by the orange light of the fire, as it went out. The living room returned to its dark, hollowed out, form, as the light from the nightstand barely acted as a light source at all, as the dark shadows fell over Aaron again, he heard his mothers soft voice again, though he refused to turn around, for he knew what happened to the person when they transformed. Just like Zane had become earlier, his mother was probably naked. So as he stood with his back facing her, he pulled the information from her words into his memory.

''I know what your thinking right now. You want to be sentenced to Earth with Alec? Don't you?'' She asked. Aaron didn't even need to respond to her, she knew even without the need for words.

''He doesn't deserve my punishment. I love him, Mom. If there's even a little bit of hope, I can bring him back? I have to take it.''

''At least promise me, you'll be careful. And I expect you to come back, I expect you to come back to me. Got it?..''

''Got it, Mom.''

As Aaron felt his mothers love flowing into him, he made it to the front door. Unable to turn back to stare at her, he could still feel her eyes looking at him. With a last smile planted on his face, Aaron disappeared across the dark, hazy field, as he knew what he was going to do to get himself sentenced. One of his few ideas, involved defacing private property. And that mean't destroying the private statue of the first cold and warm ones, the creators of their species. Aaron had a rather evil smile replacing his old one. His eyes were filled with softness, as he tightened his hands into fists. The cold temperatures of his misty ice flowing out of his fingertips, as it spread around into the air. Mixing with the warm temperatures left by the summer sun. He was ready to create some destruction.
