Ray was needlessly emotional so she should take her time to calm down. She should not be heading inside the room to meet a stranger. This much she knew by heart.
But knowing something and following it were two different things and that much Ray was coming to understand today. Her feet took her inside the room and she noticed how the man in the water was no longer struggling.
It was almost as if he had given up. But Ray could see the glint of danger in that man’s eyes. He was not submitting to her, but waiting for her to lower her guard so that he could strike back at her.
It was thrilling to be defined like this. It made Ray’s blood boil and she placed a hand on the water wall before slipping inside.
As soon as Ray reached the captive, she dragged him out of the water and held him captive in front of her.
“You remind of me someone I knew. But no matter how much pressure I put on my mind; I cannot remember who I see in you. I just knew that it makes me want to hurt you.”
