The hospital was designed to be independent of the other departments, with its own autonomy. However, due to ongoing wars and the fact that medical techniques were still in their infancy, the number of patients it could treat was limited, and many illnesses remained beyond its ability to cure.
Another issue was that most shinobi of the time prioritized combat prowess over medical ninjutsu, seeing it as inferior, which further contributed to the lack of skilled medical practitioners.
After Hoshino Kazen fell unconscious, he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Being the son of an elite jonin, the hospital treated him with utmost care. The hospital director personally attended to him, and he was even given a private room—benefits that not all patients would receive. This preferential treatment was part of the respect afforded to his father, Hoshino Yota.
After an examination by the director, the diagnosis was that Hoshino Kazen had fainted due to extreme physical exhaustion. Upon hearing this, Hoshino Yota sighed with relief, fearing that it might have been the onset of the family's bloodline disease.

Hoshino Kazen slowly stirred and opened his eyes, feeling slightly disoriented. He had lost consciousness so suddenly, with no warning at all—his last memory was of the previous day.
"This is… a hospital?"
He looked around and recognized the room; he had been here before when he fell ill in the past. Kazen frowned as he tried to recall what had happened.
"What was that blue light? Why did I faint so suddenly?"
"Could it be… that the bloodline disease has surfaced?"
Kazen's thoughts began to spiral, and eventually, he laughed at his own conclusions.
"That can't be it—bloodline diseases don't manifest this quickly."
He then tried using more modern, logical reasoning to explain the strange phenomenon, but nothing seemed to add up.
"Well, let's check on my body... wait... what?!"
Kazen's expression shifted from confusion to utter astonishment.
He rubbed his eyes hard, thinking that perhaps he was seeing things.
"What the hell?! How did my chakra increase this much?"
Kazen couldn't help but curse aloud, the situation was simply too bizarre. Even if he had some kind of cheat code, the rate of growth was unreal. The once tiny thread of chakra he had the previous day had now swelled into a flow comparable to a small stream.
He estimated that his chakra levels had already reached the level of a chūnin—perhaps even a high-level chūnin.
After a brief moment of shock and disbelief, joy began to flood his heart.
"Haha, looks like I've got myself a cheat code! Maybe conquering the world isn't so impossible after all!"
A moment later, he composed himself, knowing that arrogance often leads to a downfall. Still, he couldn't help the grin that spread across his face as he sat there with a foolish smile.
Just as he was reveling in his own thoughts, the door to his hospital room creaked open.
"Kazen! You're awake!"
The voice was filled with relief and lingering fear but was clearly warm with concern for Kazen. The person who entered was none other than his mother, Sakura Hoshino.
"Mom, I'm fine," Kazen said, trying to suppress his emotions and return to his usual demeanor, as if nothing had happened.
Overcome with joy, Sakura rushed over and hugged him tightly, affectionately nuzzling her face into his.
Kazen's face contorted into an expression of helplessness as he endured his mother's overwhelming affection.
After she had calmed down from her initial surge of emotions, Sakura finally took a closer look at her son. As she did, her gaze fell on his eyes, and a puzzled expression crossed her face.
"Kazen... your eyes, what happened to them?"
Hoshino Kazen blinked, confused by his mother's question. As far as he was aware, there was nothing wrong with his eyes. Still, he reached for a nearby mirror to take a look.
His appearance favored that of his father, with dark, soulful eyes like polished black gemstones. But when he saw his reflection, his eyes were no longer black.
His once jet-black eyes had turned a brilliant blue, as clear and deep as the sky. It felt as though, by looking into them, one could glimpse into the endless expanse of the universe.
Kazen's eyes widened in shock. His mouth fell open, and his mind buzzed with disbelief.
These eyes... just looking at them, he could sense a vast, powerful energy coursing through them. There was no doubt about it—this was the awakening of a formidable power.
"I... I guess it must be because of my bloodline limit awakening?" Kazen hastily offered an explanation, trying to provide a plausible reason for the change.
Sakura didn't question it further, nodding in understanding.
She then smiled, her eyes brimming with pride and delight. "Your eyes are beautiful," she said softly, "like two blue sapphires shining with their own light."
As a former special jonin, Sakura knew the significance of a bloodline limit. Such abilities were rare in the shinobi world, and the fact that her son had awakened one filled her with pride.
"Kazen, where's Dad?" Kazen asked as he glanced toward the door.
"Oh, he was summoned by Lord Hokage. I think it has something to do with you," Sakura replied.
Hearing this, Kazen's thoughts immediately turned to a figure he had always admired—the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, the man known as the God of Shinobi.
Hashirama was a figure of legend, revered for his unmatched power. Only Madara Uchiha could stand against him in battle. Kazen had admired him deeply in his previous life, and the man's boundless compassion and strength had earned his eternal respect.
Together with Madara, Hashirama had ended the chaotic Warring States period and founded Konoha, bringing peace to the Land of Fire and eventually influencing the entire shinobi world.
For someone who had come from a world torn by conflict and strife, Kazen felt immense admiration for the man who had built a legacy of peace.

Hoshino Yota stood before Hashirama Senju, who had summoned him. The awakening of a bloodline limit was a significant event, even in a young village like Konoha. Bloodline abilities were incredibly rare and highly prized.
The Konoha of this era was a vibrant place, full of energy and potential, unlike the darker times it would face in the future.
"Yota, you have a remarkable son," Hashirama said with his characteristic warm smile, exuding friendliness rather than the formality one might expect of the Hokage. Standing beside him was his younger brother, Tobirama Senju, the future Second Hokage.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage," Hoshino Yota replied respectfully, unable to conceal his excitement. Meeting the First Hokage in person was a rare honor, and for many, Hashirama was a true idol.
"Don't worry," Hashirama continued. "Ayako has already informed me about your son's condition. It seems his sudden awakening put a strain on his body, but there's no need to be alarmed."
Ayako, the head of Konoha Hospital, was a skilled medical nin and a member of the Senju clan herself.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage, for your concern," Hoshino Yota responded, feeling grateful for the reassurance.
