25% The sun sets and I’m gone / Chapter 4: (4)Setting out

บท 4: (4)Setting out

After briefly settling his house he immediately set out. Unsure of weather he would be able to arrive in time to save the MC before the ML returned. That's right, the ML had left for the period of a few days in the story too busy dealing with the preparation for the last steps of his plan.

Qiu Fengs plan was pretty simple. He was going to use the route that the assassins had used to enter the mansion and then after stealing what he could for some extra doe, help the MC escape and bring him back with him. After the MC was ok and all healed up he would be the one to tell him,

"You can do anything you want and go where you want."

A feeling of excitement rushed though him, he wanted to help this person who was his favorite person and also the only person he knew in this strange world. Unconsciously he had placed the two of them in the same camp and viewed it as saving a good brother/idol.

After taking a short ride on a outgoing carriage he slept restlessly. The place he was abandoned in was pretty far from conflict but many had already left or were leaving. The farmer who was driving the wooden carriage was probably leaving soon too. This was probably among this farmers last few rides, luckily he had caught it in time. He needed to move quickly, and hopefully he would arrive soon.

Actually the town he lived in was several towns away from where the MC was living. The capital and court were still under siege and were battling with all their forces, so the ML and MC had left and were staying at a remote mansion giving out orders in a relatively safe place. But even then Qiu Feng was still far away. The farmer had said he would take him until the 2nd town as he was finding right through the first. But that was as far as he could go, as he needed to trade his goods there.

After 2 days in the cart Qiu Feng thought his ass was going to fall off. Before he left had packed a weeks worth of food which really wasn't much, along with him was his straw hat, dirty cloth cloak and some jewelry he could pawn at a more expensive pawn shop closer to the capital.

Sore, still hungry, and recovering from a fever he felt horrible. But it was midday when they arrived at the third town and he needed to find a ride soon. After debating for a while he chose a horse to borrow spending all the spare change he had on him. The limit was three days so he needed to leave immediately.

By dinner he had adapted somewhat to the horses fast pace and was only a few hours away from 3rd town. The sun sunk below the horizon and he stopped to rest in the forest, he certainly couldn't afford any sort of hotel after all.

Wrapping his dirty cloak around him he thanked god or whoever had sent him over that they had sent him over in the summer when the weather didn't cool too much during the night.

The ground was damp when he opened his eyes. The sky was bright but the sun hadn't risen yet. Unable to stand sleeping on the dirt any longer he complained in his head.

'I miss my bed..and my nice blankets…and even if i was outdoors i could have a tent and blow up mat. I also wouldn't have to ride in a cart down a path that is made to kill peoples ass.'

Waking the sleeping horse he fed it some random grass from the road side and they continued to the town. Half asleep in the rugged saddle he finally made it to town. Pulling the straw hat down so it only exposed his chin he pushed forward. After pawning off the rest of the jewelry except a thin hair piece he carried with him, he payed a barn owner to hold onto his horse for the day and made his way into town. Sitting inside a near empty tea house he sat in silence trying to remember the plot.

While talking to the farmer who brought him he had asked the date, it was the 320th day of the lunar calendar and was the 31 year of the emperor Mo's rule. He only had a few days left, in a way he arrived right on time.

Just as this thought passed by he heard the rattling of calvary and turned to look. It was still early in the morning but the messengers were already here. After arriving at the mansion they would report to the lord who would leave the next day. Tonight he would scope out the route and when the lord left tomorrow night he would go and rescue the MC, Guang Chen.

The day seemed to pass tortuously long.

That night he crept up the outer walls of the mansion, thankfully this mansion wasn't the one in the capital. Their were some guards but not many and with his slim build, as long as he followed the route correctly and was quiet he should be fine. When he stood atop the wall he frozen for a few seconds, hesitating, could he really do this? Would the MC even want..to leave? What if he was chased after helping the MC? How would he live?

'Stop! Qiu Feng! Focus! Just get the MC out, if he wants to leave, then you should be happy! This is why your here!'

Throwing his worries aside briefly, he slipped into the house quiet as a mouse. As he came closer and closer he found the center garden. Locking eyes on a tall fancy building in the center he struggled to climb up the roof and suddenly froze.

If the ML was a general wouldn't he be able to sense him? No to mention the guards nearby… Qiu Fengs whole body froze up. What in the world was he doing? How in the world was he crazy enough to think he could actually do this?

Before he could think further he hear movements below. Heavy footsteps and..the smell of alcohol?

"Is he inside? Haha what am i saying…"

A low sexy voice horse and slightly slurred from alcohol entered his ears.

'Is this…that Bastard?!? The ML?! But wait, hes drunk? Ah! I remember!'

In the story the day the male lead, Wing Liu, left he got drunk and had had a bout of forceful sex, rape, with Guang Chen.

'That despicable bastard! I hope you fall down a well!' His face twisted.

It was here in the story that Guang Chen finally broke, tonight was his last change at getting Guang Chen out before he really collapsed! Shit! How could he have remembered incorrectly!

'Thank god i left when i did! Thank god!'

He face smoothed out the moons light casting a dim glow on his face, which surprisingly, was pretty cute. As cute as a half starved face could get. Except it was twisted in a ugly weird way, what a shame.

Gritting his teeth he moved awkwardly on the tile roofs thankful for the conversation going on below. Helping mask the noise he made. But soon the conversation took a turn, and that turn got graphic real quick.
