"Did I catch you at a bad time?" He asked as he moved stealthily closer to his friend, who stood still on his office balcony, staring into the distance.
In untrained eyes, they would not have noticed it, but he knew how to read people. He could spot the small details in their movements.
He believed his friend had been in deep thought about something. He could not help but wonder what was bothering a man like him.
"Of course not." His friend answered without looking at him, but he could see that he mildly flinched upon hearing his voice.
It could be an involuntary reflex. But under normal circumstances, Liam believed he would never catch his friend unaware. He would sense his presence a mile away.
"But I think you are losing your touch if you did not notice my presence." He jabbed at him, like in old times, trying to outsmart his friend as he sneaked at him.
