Aren't you curious to know why we lost her to the mess?" Mbali asked and Hawi laughed humorlessly. 

This was not what they usually do. 

This was insane, but even she couldn't deny the spark of hope that lit up in her at the mention of the prettiest woman she had ever met. 

Ruru was perfect and nothing was ever going to change that for Hawi. Ruru had been her lifeline and she had lost her, just like that. It wasn't the best of times and it would forever haunt Hawi, for as long as she lived.
