บท 3: Chapter 3:The Fated Meeting
It's been a week since I ran from the church pursuit. Without any food and water remaining, my body ended up collapsing in the dirty alley near suburbs.
I'm lying in the small alley like a beggar with tattered clothes and wound in every part in my body.
When I want to close my eyes suddenly a family with their small daughter passing through this alley.
"Be obedient and stay here, we will pick you up later" said the mother while giving her a bottle of water
The girl just nodded weakly as she saw her parents walking out from the alley.
"Brother, are you okay? do you want some water?"
She gives me her water and sits quietly in the alley while waiting for her parents. Somehow I managed to live although I still can't walk because of my injured leg.
She waited for three days but her parents are nowhere to be seen. The girl started sobbing because she feels hungry. She has not been eating anything for three days after all. She started to begging in the street.
"Sir, may I ask you for a piece of bread?"
She begged the entire day but nobody gives her anything... She was tired, starving and end up crying the entire night before falling asleep.
On the next day, she tried stole a piece of bread from a nearby stall. Unfortunately, the shop owner saw this and beat her but she clutched the bread tightly and refused to return the bread. She came back in the alley covered in wound and dirt while carrying a piece of bread. She didn't eat the bread immediately instead she split the bread into two. She gives the eat the tiny half of bread by herself and giving the large half to me.
"Aren't you starving? Why did you give half of your bread to me?" I asked weakly
"I'm very hungry right now, and I'm afraid to starve later." She said "But I am more scared to be left alone" the girl quietly sobbed.
"I'm scared to be left alone" Hearing this sentence, tears slowly rolled out from my eyes. She was so hungry and risked herself to steal a piece of bread and got beaten because of that. Despite her hunger, she still gives half of her bread to a stranger like me.
I slowly hugged her and said "don't worry, even if the worlds abandon you I will stay beside you and accompany you for the rest of my life"
"From now your name is Angela, my only remaining kin in this world"
After that Lucist slowly gave up on his revenge and decide to live with Angela as a normal human. They build a hut near the forest and living by hunting an animal in the forest. Ten years later Angela growing into a beautiful woman and lived her life in joy each day. The villager treats Angela as a goddess because she always helping when someone needs help. Unfortunately, her popularity started to attract church attention.
One day when I still hunting an animal in the forest, the church send their member to kidnap Angela. When I came back from hunting, I didn't find a trace of Angela in our hut. I started to panic and searched the entire village without avail. When I tried to search her in the abandoned church I met a man with black wings.
"Who are you?" I said cautiously
"My name is Lucifer, the fallen angel. do you want to find that girl?"
"Do you know her whereabouts? please tell me! I can give anything to you!"
"She was kidnapped by the Vatican"
"Why did the Vatican kidnap her? she is just an ordinary woman!"
"She possessed a huge amount of life energy, the church needs her for "God's Battle preparation"
"What is God's Battle?"
"You don't need to know about that, but I will teach you an incantation to summon me if that time come"
"Remember if you decide to make a contract with me you will pay the corresponding price"
In the sacrifice altar...
"Angela wake up!"
I tried shaking her body as she slowly opened her eyes
"Brother? what happened to your eyes?!" she looked at me worriedly.
In order to summon a strong angel like Lucifer, Lucist sacrificed both of his eyes and most of his lifespan. His eyes are pitch black and he can't see anything anymore. But he never regretting anything at this moment.
"The church wants to take your life force and I'm forced to call Lucifer to save you."
"Listen to me Angela, run as far as possible from here while Lucifer can buy some time"
Lucist looked at the sky and saw Lucifer actually fight 7 Archangel by himself. "as expected from the strongest angel" Lucist murmured
"No brother! you promised to accompany me forever!" Angela started to sobbing
"don't worry I will come after you after this battle ended" I hugged Angela and tried to convince her.
"No! I won't leave! I hate being alone!" Angela cried loudly as she recalled a similar scene where she was abandoned by her parents.
"Angela I'm sorry I can't keep my promise... I can't accompany you anymore... my life energy nearly extinguished"
Lucist closed his eyes and stopped breathing after saying his last sentence. Lucifer figure also started disappearing in the sky because of the contractor already dead.
"No!!! Brother!!!" Huge energy circling around Angela as she unconsciously summoned Chronos, the god of time.
The pope and the seven angels frozen in the air because the time stopped moving.
"Why do you call me?" Chronos asked
"You are a god, right? please save my brother!" Angela pleaded
"I'm neither god of life nor god of death, I can revive a dead person" Chronos shaking his head
"But I can send him to reincarnate in the near future, in addition, he will not regain his vision because it's a part of the contract with another God"
A glimmer of hope appeared in Angela's face.
"What I need to pay?" Angela knows very well, asking a favor from a god requires a sacrifice. Her brother ended up losing his eyes and his entire lifespan because of summoning Lucifer.
"I will take your voice and your entire life as a compensation"
"Can I ask you a favor? can you send my spirit to where my brother reincarnate?"
"Yes, but I need to remind you that you can't keep your physical body and you will lose your ability to talk."
"Please do it," Angela said excitedly
"Don't worry brother, you won't be lonely because I will accompany you as your guardian spirit next life" she closed her eyes as her body started disappearing from the world.
