That afternoon, I awoke later from my nap than I had anticipated I would, but grateful no one had been sent to disturb me. I was much more tired than usual as of late, likely due to my recovering from my injuries.
It was golden and pink outside as I sat at my vanity to undo my braid which had become unkempt from sleeping. Cool, ocean-fragrant air pushed through my open balcony doors, and I heard an adventurous bee buzzing around the swaying curtains.
A knock came at my door, and assuming it was a butler who'd been sent to fetch me for lunch, I answered it. I blinked at Seth's appearance, curious and startled to see him at my door. Exceedingly rare, had it been, that any of my siblings wandered to my room. Seth's pale blue blouse appeared almost sheer as I studied the fabric. Glittering thread had been sewn here and there, a sheen catching my eyes with every subtle movement.
