บท 304: Chapter 304 - It’s too late, Mara, I don’t love you anymore

Peter maintained a slight smile and responded, 

"Mara, I understand you better than you understand yourself. Do you think you can deceive me? I have sacrificed my entire life, waiting for your love while you bestowed it upon someone who loved another."

Peter was deeply distressed at this point. However, he understood that she was already doomed, and he couldn't let his anger consume him.

Mara attempted to regain his sympathy, particularly after realizing her mistake. She should have fought for her own freedom before considering Martin's. Mara knew that Peter didn't love her anymore because of how she had given the heart he desired to Martin.

"Please, Pete, I will do anything," Mara cried, feeling dehydrated and aware that she would not be permitted to face trial.

She knew that if Pete did not help her escape, she would be killed, unlike Zayla, who was destined to face trial, as she overheard the general informing one of his men.
