บท 104: First Magical Item

Running her hands through the burning corpse of the assassin beneath her feet, Aurelia snatched his iron sword, finding nothing of relevance but a small common-looking ring holding a small azure shard.

"My Lady," Said Eldritch calmly, "To answer your question, battle prowess is how you are able to overwhelm most of your generation. Be it your skill, knowledge, or your body, your battle prowess is determined by everything but your Arcane rank."

"I got that much, but what are the ranks, and what level am I?" The young warrior inquired, placing her scimitar on her back and her sword upon her waist.

"You are a mortal, your grace." Eldritch calmly expressed, "The ranks that follow are Mortal, Knight, Master, Spirit, Void, Emperor, Sovereign and lastly the almost mythical rank, God-King."

"What is Zariel's?"

Eldritch fell silent for a moment and pondered over the question that tugged at his soul gravely. "I don't know," He unsurely swore, "I do not know much about the Lord, to speculate. However, his understanding of Spells is monstrous. I will say his technique level has touched upon the Truth."

A curious gleamed of wonder flashed across within the young fallen as she heard of his not so subtle use of 'technique level' comment. She grinned, lifting her head high over the glow of the dim moon, and spoke. "What are the levels?"

Eldritch chuckled, "knowledge is power, your grace. I hope you use what I am about to tell you wisely." he warned, knowing Aurelia was still but a child, no matter how mature she acted at times. "The ranks are Novice, Adept, Expert, Master, Truth, Dao, Ancient, and lastly Concepts. You are in a way still a Novice, no matter how much others tell you otherwise."

"So my Chasing Daybreak technique I created is at novice?" Aurelia inquired sharply.

"You are correct. However, as you grow and add in the profundities of the heavens and earth, they will begin to grow and evolve to the next stage. Think of it like a game if you are confused. Keep swinging your sword till you level up, and you will be good." Eldritch softly informed, hiding how monstrous Aurelia truly was.

To be raised in on Alos, with a master who focused more on battle experience than skill, Aurelia's ability to adapt to hundreds of situations was far more invasive than those she fought and killed. Zariel's method, while slow, had allowed her to face just about anyone her level or above and still find a way to live.

Fleeing the scene towards her comrades who had long taken up camp, the echos of feral beast howled through the Redwoods. Filling the hearts of those of faint hearts, Aurelia came upon a faint shadow gripping a sword. She approached without a sound and dismissed the Edlrich staff from sight.

"Who goes there! You are entering the territory of a child of the House of Soltven," Caldor vigilantly howled, holstering his blade towards the golden eye shadow.

Opening her palm, the Fallen narrowed her eyes as a small incantation ran cold from her lips, filling the darkness in light.

"Light,"

Banishing the darkness away with a Zero Spell, Caldor's lips contorted, "So you are alive. I would have thought the Cre'von would be gnawing over your cold bones. Shame." he snapped. Noticing the faint lack of blood and dirt over her clothing, he sneered, "So you ran, a coward, I suppose. Make sense you are but a woman. Spreading your legs should be your only business."

The fallen smiled and allowed Caldors empty words to pass through one ear and exit the other. Stepping past him, Aurelia gazed shifted to the side, sending such a chill the tips of the plants beneath their feet began to wither unknowingly.

"Aurelia! your back!" A sudden cry rang. Leaping down from a tree, having noticed the light that had suddenly brightened the skies, Ella flew into Aurelia's arms and rubbed her cheeks against the Fallens chubby ones. "I see you got a sword. Was it a good hunt?"

"Some assassins were targeting us, a few kilometers away." Aurelia swiftly informed, shifting her gaze towards the two handsome men approaching.

"Aurelia, you're fine!" Said Sionn, rushing towards the young fallen wrapping his arms around her. He then pulled back and eyed her for injury. "Oh? You got a new sword. Can I have mine back?"

"Good to see you too," Aurelia sarcastically uttered, flicking his head. Sionn giggled as Aurelia handed him a scimitar. "They didn't have any shields, I am sorry."

"No big deal." Sionn conveyed, shaking his head lightly without much concern, "My skin is getting tougher with each day since we got our cores."

"She claimed that there some assassins targeting them," Caldor said, crossing his arms. He sneered, "Why would assassins be targeting some nobodies."

Balder narrowed his sharp eyes and frowned. "Did any escape?" He asked, not bothering who they were after.

"One did. It seems the assassins were acting on Calthorian orders." Aurelia added, noticing the tightening of Balder's jaw. "Should we separate?"

"Hell yes!" Caldor howled in outrage. "If by some chance, the Blood Prince has set his eyes on this girl, why should we antagonize him?"

"I am growing tired of you," Ella said sharply, subtly placing her palm over the elegant pommel of her blade. A chilling glint had begun to grow within her eyes, brewing with a deadly bloodlust.

"Be silent, Caldor." Balder coldly scolded, "Forgive him. Caldor comes from a family that shits silver spoons." He told, shooting the man in question a dark stare, and returned his gaze to the Fallen. "Did you pick up his Infinity Ring?

"That is the ring you picked up from the assassin, your grace." Eldritch swiftly informed, as to not make his Lord not look like a fool. "Drop a single drop of blood over the azure crystal, and you will see a small pocket of space."

A bit of surprise could not help but touch Aurelia's cheeks, but she still nodded, pulling out a small ring from her pockets and lifted the tip of the sword from out of its sheath. She cut the tip of her finger and ran a single drop of blood over the ring swiftly.

Shimmering with a Golden Arcana, a soul tether suddenly formed between aurelia and the Infinity ring, showing the young girl a small pocket of space held within the shard at the tip of the ring.

Studying the content, Aurelia grew surprised at the two-by-two-meter vast space filled with weapons, herbs of both poisons, and healing, all organized by name and grade, and a set of potions.

"Any letter from Calthorian?" Balder calmly asked, unable to take his gaze off the sparkle held by the golden eye girl smiling deeply.

"No," Aurelia answered, turning to her friends. "Why not talk in the morning. Let's all get some rest."
