บท 5: Before the Eternal Nightmare Part 1

"Hey sis how was school?" I asked my sister with a smile. She smiled back and gave the simple, common answer of it was fine. We were pretty close. I often felt like I could talk to her about anything. New Haven, a small town where everyone knows everyone. It was all so simple and that was fine. I went and prepared dinner for my sister then headed off to my room to study before bed. The following morning I would normally go to school but I never made it that day... I didn't live that far so I walked to school, on my way there I felt a chill down my spine. I turned around and saw a man in the distance. I didn't know who he was, but the sight of him terrified me. His face was pale almost hollow looking. His eyes were black and lifeless, never blinking. Always staring right toward me. He wore all black. His clothing was torn and robe like. I was so busy studying him I barely noticed he was walking. He wasn't moving fast but he was walking toward me, never blinking. Just staring at me... I decided to take a longer route to school to lose him. I turned into an older part of town that was almost abandoned. I didn't see him behind me so I felt I was safe to continue to the school. As I walked there I couldn't get his face out of my mind. I tried to remember more details about him and the only thing that stood out to me was that frown He looked angry at the world.... I felt afraid again. I ended up just going home that day however. The rest of my day I didn't see him again. Night came around after I made dinner for my sister and I headed up to bed. Once I turned out the lights I saw my worst nightmare.... The man was now standing over my bed staring down at me with those lifeless eyes. He wasn't moving just staring down at me. My heart was leaping out of my chest. The man moved his face closer to mine and I don't remember what happened next.... I just know how I feel now. Every day is the same thing... Dull, simple and just boring. Something needs to change, something interesting. I went and grabbed a pistol out of my dads gun safe and laid it on my bed. The mans face was still buried in my mind... I need a face like that. I thought to myself. I headed to the front door to go find that face. My sister saw me on the way out.
