บท 19: Chapter 18 : Lost Terrain
"It's reached up to that point?!" yelled the Ember village leader at the transmission on the shinphone in the meeting with the other nation leaders.
"It seems so... I'm also afraid to tell you that we've lost Shiki forest alongside Cedarfall village and Frostfang mountain..." said the leader of the Haze nation, leaning back into his chair with a sigh of disappointment at the end of his sentence.
"Just what is causing this..." said out the both troubled and puzzled Nimbu nation leader.
Ember nation leader, Ignatius, didn't expect this. He thought that this era was the one where peace was entirely achieved and established by exterminating at least the monsters...
That was his goal, the goal that his father and grandfather both bore in the past as the leaders of their nations and entrusted upon their sons after them, leaving it as a legacy, a family legacy...
"What is the course of action now Zephyr?" Ignatius asked the leader of the Nimbu nation, hoping for a response that he'll like.
Zephyr was rather hesitant before replying to him. And when he did, it wasn't to answer his question but rather to instead rise a new one.
"I... Our problem is that we have no idea what happened to those key locations, whether they were taken over, massacred or abandoned.. Whether or not it was the doing of a monster or a human."
It arose a silence in their transmission call, with each of them thinking on what's the next step. Each of the nations had capable warriors, each for a specific thing, so they began to formulate a plan. A plan to free, and at most liberate, the locations.
Shiki forest is a large forest, with big trees covering it and it ranging over 30km, having people living inside of it in lodges and cabins. It wasn't uncommon for a monster to be seen there by the residents either... It's the connecting point, and a 'shortcut' from Ember to Rock nations
Cedarfall village is a large village, nearly 2x larger of Blaze, making it one largest village in all the nations. It resides in Nimbu nation and by itself holds 10 000 residents, including it's leaders, guards, warriors, civilians etc.
That may not be a large number, but that's a lot of men, women and children. And to think that each realm holds approximately 8 billion life forms on it...
Frostfang mountain is located at the edge of Rock nation, specifically in the area of constant snow. The mountain is cold, though it's not only as old as the realm, there are at least a 100 of civilians there, alongside a rumor.
Many believed that a glimmer of energy from a powerful ice dragon was able to fall onto their realm and that's why it's constantly snowing and cold there. No one has been able to uncover the truth behind it, but that's the most famous rumor.
"Okay.." spoke back up Ignatius "I'll send multiple squads to Cedarfall village to see what's going on there and keep you posted and let you know if backup is required." he said, already sending out alerts to all the teacher and students available and present in the village.
Zephyr nodded and added : "Alright, that's a good plan. Since Shiki forest is large and vast, can I count on Haze nation's assistance?" he asked the leader of said nation, Torin.
"You got it." quickly replied the asked leader.
"So that leaves Dune and Rock to combine forces and go on to check and hopefully reclaim Frostfang mountain. Are you two up for it?" asked Zephyr additionally.
"Yeah." instantly replied back the Rock nation leader Thalorn
"Of course!" exclaimed the Dune nation leader, Roderan
"Then it's settled." said out Zephyr, wishing the best of luck to them and hoping that they all reclaim the out of commission places.

Karoi rushed into the hospital with Satoru's body and placed it down onto a hospital bed with wheels, yelling and demanding for a doctor. One quickly got there and took the hospital bed to a room alongside 3 other nurses.
He was instructed to sit down by a walking by nurse and that he'll be briefed shortly about the boy's state. Impatiently he waited, with thoughts going on in his head about him and how he must not die.
Another nurse, one of the 3 that went into the room with him, 5 minutes later walked out and got to Karoi, who instantly stood up and asked her how was he doing. She couldn't exactly look him into the eyes and break the news to him, speaking in a gentle and quieter tone.
"Sir.. I'm afraid that the boy's energy has found it's way into the negatives. Energy replenishment elixirs don't seem to work on him... Somehow, he's still got a pulse, so we'll do the best we can." she said, now being able to gaze into his eyes behind the black mask.
Karoi looked down at the floor and uncontrollably sat down, holding his head with his hands.
"It's all my fault..." murmured the now distraught sensei, with the nurse touching his shoulder for a second and heading back inside Satoru's hospital room.
A random unrelated nurse, walked out from the room beside and looked at Karoi, seeing him hold his head and asked him : "Excuse me, but do you perchance know the sensei of the boy Jinn?"
He looked up at her and pulled himself together, letting the elbows of his arms now rest on his knees. "Yeah, it's Kuga. But tell me, is he doing okay?"
The nurse looked down at the clipboard and saw the report of the boy's health, taking it up to Karoi, handing him it and only then responding. "He'll be just fine. When he wakes up, he can check out. No internal damage, no broken bones and he is perfectly clear and healthy."
The sensei observed the paper on the clipboard, nodding at what she was telling him and returning it back to her "Thanks." he said to her, going to lean back into his chair, as the nurse smiled at him for a moment and left to the main counter.
From his coat's pocket, started to continuously vibrate his shinphone, as he was summoned by Ignatius. He saw it and got up, heading to the building.
Upon getting there, he already saw many who he recognized such as Twist, Kuga and another sensei by the name of Zenkai.
The students were all there too. Well... Mostly.
Nova, Zankoku, Kazumi, Rai, Aza and others who he didn't have the chance of meeting like Masato, Nao, Yui and 2 others. They all stood and observed the Ember village leader who had awaited for 'Primal' to get there before beginning to tell them what's going on.
"I'm glad all of you were able to join us." said Ignatius, standing up from his chair and going around his table, to stand in front of them all.
"What is this about?" Kuga asked quickly
Ignatius looked down at the wooden floor and back towards them speaking "Cedarfall village has got out of our commission and been taken over. There's no word from anyone there... You all will be deployed there to see what's going on, and eliminate the monsters that had done this."
Zankoku raised his hand, having a question in mind. "Yes?" asked Ignatius.
"When do we leave to there?" Despite no one asking it except him even though the briefing had just begun, they thought about it too, wondering the exact same thing.
"In 5 minutes." said Ignatius, making them all form questions in their heads as to why. They knew that Cedarfall is the largest village since they were all taught about it and some even visited it but still...
"Let me know who the absent ones are from your squads immediately." added Ignatius
Karoi spoke up quickly, replying to him : "Satoru from my squad and Jinn from Kuga's squad. Both of them are in the hospital as we speak."
Aza didn't know of that and immediately started to worry about them, beginning to think about if they're okay and how she'll definitely visit them after this assignment is completed.
Nova's eyes started to stare into the wooden planked floor as he wondered what the hell could have defeated Satoru to wound him up to the point where he's hospitalized and unable to go to a mission...
Ignatius let out a grunt as he went back to sit on his chair, leaning back in it and crossing his arms.
"All of you. Let me know what exactly happens down there in Cedarfall. Contact me if you require assistance and I shall send backup." the leader said, with all of them hearing it and nodding, being dismissed and deployed there immediately.
They headed out of the buildings and instantly all squads began running separately but still together to Cedarfall village to find out what the hell is happening right now.
