Ava was frowning as she looked at Jude.

"You don't trust me?" she asked.

"No, I just…" Jude swallowed all the words that he wanted to say. The thing is, he wasn't really used to scenes like that. True, he is currently the head of the northern America base of Trillium but he had never actually done some fieldwork in the past. Unlike Ava, his father asked him to tackle more political cases to boost his career.

"You haven't seen something like that," Ava nodded. Opposite her was Francheska who was also in a very bad mood after she heard Jude's words. Matthew was nowhere to be seen.

"Have you?" Francheska asked.

"I did."

"I heard you did some things before you left Trillium."

Ava smiled. "As a matter of fact, I did."

"How did you feel about it?"

How did she feel? The answer is nothing. It was just a part of her job. "Sad?" Ava said. Saying that she felt nothing while watching all those people die would be too cold.
