The girls in Ellie’s leadership group were amazing. Even after Sylvia left and went to live with Ulysses in his territory, Ellie continued their training. It was her goal to teach as many women as possible how to take care of their packs and provide everything they could possibly need, whether it was from the nurturing side that was usually left to the Luna or the protective side that came from the Alpha.

As much fun as it always was meeting with her group of twenty-three women ranging from age sixteen to twenty-five, one morning a few weeks after Sylvia and Ulysses tied the knot, Ellie woke up not feeling it. Her stomach felt twisted, she had no energy, and she swore her body was bloated in ways it never had been before.
