Calista intervened, holding Demetrius' wrist and addressing him affectionately, "Darling..."

But before she could finish her sentence, Demetrius interrupted her and directed his words at Evander, "Do you think we don't know what the drugs we bought you do? Do you know why they are so expensive? It's because they allow you to live the same life you had before. You won't experience any difficulty breathing, coughing fits, or any other side effects.
