Sierra leaned against his chest, burying her face in the scent of his clothes. She didn't realise just how much she'd missed his touch and presence until that very moment.
"I'm sorry, my love. I'm sorry," Alistair whispered continuously as he tightened his arms around her.
He was afraid of losing her again, worried he would never see her again. Sierra shook her head, she could not even look him in the eye at that moment.
"No, I should apologize. I was too rash, too stubborn…" she reasoned, not knowing what else to say.
She has been so worried about her father that she had neglected Alistair's feelings entirely. She did not for a moment think how he would feel if they were to be separated. Going into war for any regular person would be highly dangerous. When you've been marked for death, the danger was further amplified.
I've been debating on the finale for <The King's Mistress> for quite some time now!
It could end soon (perhaps in a few weeks or less, or in a month or two) but I am still undecided.
But no matter what happens, I really appreciate everyone who's given my book a chance! I don't have a new book planned for the time being after this one is complete, but if you would like to keep up with me afterward, please feel free to follow me on Instagram @authorvalestriamoon!
I have not updated that in very long, however, I will likely do so when I have a new project in mind. Anyways, have a great week ahead everyone!
Please check out my latest novel <The King's Cursed Bride>!
