บท 13: The aftermath
The following day Michaela has tracked down where Svetlana was staying, she had parked outside her house on the other side of the road waiting. When she realised a car had just pulled over in front of Svetlana's house and it was Mika coming out of the car approaching Svetlana's porch. He rang the doorbell severally and no one responded.
He finally decided to walk back to his vehicle and he drove away.
' How does he know Svetlana?' She thought
Her, Recce and Mika were at the same university.
Since she confirmed that she is not around, she decided to go Recce hotel because he had switched his phone since yesterday night.
' Mr Recce has not arrived yet.' His personal assistant told her.
She decided to go to his place but he was nowhere to be found even at his grandfather's place. Her father Mr. Carson had confirmed it for her.
She got mad.
' Is he with Svetlana , they are both nowhere to be found and their phones are off since yesterday.'
'Recce is mine am not going to let that nobody take him away from me.' She reasoned out determined.
Recce and Svetlana were still intertwined in each others arms a sleep due to last nights exhaustion from their endeavours. Svetlana' s phone alarm went off she had forgotten to disable it. She had planned to wake up early and head to work before Recce had appeared late last night.
It woke her up, she turned slowly to get up but Recce touched and pulled her back into his embrace.
'Are you trying to run away from me now?' He asked teasingly
'No , am just going to disable the alarm.' She responded smiling shyly at his gaze.
'He is so handsome.' She thought. She has never observed him so closely before.
He still did not want to let go of her. He brought her more closer to him, held her lower lip with his finger gazing into her shining brown eyes and he kissed her passionately.
The alarm sounded again and interrupted their kiss.
' Let me disabled the alarm.' She said.
' Let's spend the whole day here together with no interruptions.' Recce requested
'It's alright, i had already Emailed Mitchell that i will not be in for the rest of today before you arrived yesterday night.' She replied
' Okay that's settled. Am going to prepare breakfast.' He said as he woke up.'
'But first let's take a shower.' He dragged her playfully inside the bathroom.
'No! no! Svetlana said while laughing shyly. She had no choice but to join him.
'Have you heard anything from your son since yesterday?' asked Mr. Nicholai
'No i haven't, since he left yesterday i haven't contacted him.' Mrs. Victoria replied.
' I have been trying to reach him all morning but he is offline and nowhere to be found.' He replied.
'I hope he has been able to sought out his issues with Svetlana.' She said thoughtfully.
' Hello family ! Good morning.' Michaela shouted at the entrance of the dinning.
They both looked at each other surprised with many questions lingering in their minds.
She joined them at the table without an invitation. She was very desperate to find Recce.
' Am looking for Recce to apologise for how i conducted myself yesterday. I have looked for him every possible place he would be but he is nowhere to be found.'
' Mr. Nicholai and Recce's mother looked at each other.'
'No we do not.' Replied Mrs. Victoria.
' Since yesterday during lunch we have not communicated with him.' Added Mrs. Victoria.
Mr. Nicholai looked at her displeased with her behaviour. He never liked her from way back when she was Recce's fiancee.
'I will be taking my leave, if you hear from him kindly let me know.' She requested Recce's mother while standing up to leave.
'I have never liked her for my Grandson, her father and i have a good relationship and Recce loved her. That's why i never interfered.
'I never saw this side of her before.' Responded Recce's mother.
''Recce! '' Svetlana called while walk down the stairs from the bedroom.
'Yes my love! Breakfast is ready. Recce responded.
' I was thinking after breakfast we go take a tour of this beautiful place, there is a small town near here we go get some this that we need.' said Svetlana
' As long as i will be doing it with you, am in.' Recce said holding her hand, pulling her next to him.' They exchanged glances, she was still a little bit shy, Recce lifted her chin so that she could face him.
' I love you.' He said.
' I love you too.'
They finally kissed passionately.
' I think Michaela still does not understand its over between you and her. What are you going to do about it?' She asked him while having their breakfast.
' I have told her severally that it is over between me and her but she does not seem to accept it.' He replied.
' Mika was at my place, asking for forgiveness for how he ended things.' Svetlana said.
' I do not want him near you, you are mine now.' He said it possessively.
' Okay you know i also do not want him near me, i do not love him anymore.' She replied.
After their breakfast , they drove in Recce's car to the nearest town.
They went to the market place holding hands, it was a beautiful town. People there are friendly, they bought some of the groceries they needed for the cabin.
They hired some bicycles and rode them through out the town to explore it together. On their ride Recce saw a toy store, he wanted to look for a Forklift 9000 truck he had promise Kith earlier.
' Lets get into the toy store.' Said Recce. while riding toward the store.
' I hope you are not planning to buy me a teddy bear, i do not like dolls.' She said teasingly. But followed obediently.
'Am looking for a Forklift 9000 truck.' Recce asked the sales man.
' There is only one left in the store, its a limited editions. Replied the sales man.
' I had promised Kith i will find him this toy.' Recce told Svetlana.
' Thank you on his behalf.' She said. Admiring him even more for loving her son.
