The three of them toured the carnival only taking breaks to eat lunch before continuing their day. It was already sundown by the time they had finished and in Bayview, getting home before sundown was almost a basic necessity for those who knew of the cratures that utilized this period of the day. They had began their exit leaving as fast as they could.
With every passing minute, he could sense the increase in vampire numbers, their scent was literally everywhere which meant the night walkers were eventually pouring out of their hiding places to also partake in the fun. He could feel eyes constantly staring as the three of them walked by. They weren't the only witches around but it was very much certain that they were outnumbered and with a human with them whose looks not only brought them more attention, but he was also food for these demons.
From the corner of his eyes, Eddie could see a familiar face constantly trailing them, but he didn't want to retaliate now. They were too many of them that staring back was almost a death sentence. These creatures loved trouble and even a whiff of it would bring all of them hovering all over you like flies on a carcass.
Jade drew closer to Scott just to protect him from both the demons that stared at him as food and the humans who wanted him in their arms. She too was feeling the stare lingering all over them as they exited and she had wished they left earlier. Even though majority of the ones around were nightwalkers and were not that powerful, they made up their strengths with their numbers always hording into a place in troops and having each other's backs.
Her witch blood was already boiling, ready to strike in case any of the undead creatures tried anything stupid.
They eventually made their way out of the park. They were going to escort Scott home first before they could even dream of going home. Humans were so lucky that vampires couldn't enter their into their houses without permission if not, they wouldn't be much of them left.
They were now on the empty streets ,most of the houses light were off as most parents and their kids were still present at the carnival hoping to make as much memory as they could before the event ended. They walked down the deserted road chatting every once in a while when suddenly, Eddie had stopped and casted a binding spell behind them only missing his target by an inch.
"Why are you following us?" He asked the darkness. His wolf instincts had made it possible for him to detect any presence or body faster than his witch sister and his friend could and he was certain they were being followed.
Nicole appeared out of the darkness, showing herself finally to the other pair that hadn't noticed her. She was obviously trialing them because she knew they would never leave the human alone to walk home by himself and so she had made use of the opportunity to stalk them and find out where the human lived.
Jade had suddenly heated up after recognizing the face that had just appeared, she raised raised her hand to break the creature in two but Eddie stopped her. They couldn't risk starting a fight with a vampire at night where they had the advantage. One cry from her could send a legion chasing after them but it seemed his sister was too heated up to realize that.
Nicole didn't speak but only pointed at the boy in the middle, her smile only growing broader. She didn't know why but she couldn't get herself to just forget him. She had lived for seventy five years and had had her fair share of sexual pleasure from both men and women but he, he was just something else. She wanted him, needed him.
"What do you want?" Scott finally spoke, wanting to end everything fast and get home. He knew how troublesome vampires could be and Eddie and Jade wouldn't let him hear the last of it, their cruelty, affinity for war and their obsession with good looking humans and even though he felt the last one was particularly a warning for him to avoid them at all cost, he was beginning to see some truth in it.
"You didn't get me my panda" she began once again faking her sad tone as she spoke.
Even though he knew that wasn't why she followed him, he offered up the stuffed bear he had in his hand which he had won for his mother to her. Leaving his mother empty handed and heartbroken for a day was way better than having a vampire trail you around with the possible risk of attacking and feeding you anytime.
Nicole giggled as she took the stuffed animal from his hand while watching the female beside him almost explode with rage and jealousy. She was going to leave him for now but she will be back and she was sure of it.

Katherine cursed herself for her cowardice and hypocrisy while casting a memory wiping spell on herself. She did this everyday just to forget the guilt of the sins she had committed. Using her own son as a lab rat for the witches.
From the beginning, she knew Eddie wasn't a regular wolf, he was a product of two different genes a wolf and a vampire. Even though vampires weren't really capable of procreation, she had made this possible for her friend who got turned against her wish.
All her friend wanted was a child and as a vampire, she couldn't get what she desired the most. At this time, they were already rumors of the possibility of a war but they never really believed it. Her friend had made the ultimate sacrifice, in exchange for her life, she will bear a child and she had happily accepted this offer and soon enough, she took in. Her lover being a wolf.
Only Katherine knew of this but because they were bound to not keep secrets from the coven, she had opened up to the higher ups whom surprisingly, didn't act against this, instead they saw it as an opportunity that might be beneficial for them.
Katherine wasn't sure if it was coincidence, but few months after Eddie's birth, the moon massacre had occured and his father was murdered after successfully hiding him out of sight. She had rushed over when she heard of the ongoing event only to approach a burning house, instantly, she had cancelled out the flames rushing inside to meet a crying boy in the midst of smoke. She had appeared just in time before he could suffocate and hopefully, he would heal.
Even though Eddie hadn't really manifested any vampire abilities so far, she was still aware of the fact that he was a hybrid, the first of many.
When he had been rescued, she took her to the higher ups who permitted her to care for the child but in exchange for keeping him alive, she would have to give them a supply of the babys blood monthly for a year
It had just been recently that she had discovered their plan all along, they were mutating humans, the few wolves they managed to capture during the moon massacre and even vampires to become a combined breed just like Eddie. Except that most of them weren't stable yet but recently, they had made a breakthrough and had successfully created another hybrid.
The higher ups had claimed that when they had enough of these new breeds, they would use them to take control of the vampires and rule the supernatural world.
Katherine wiped her tears hoping one day to find redemption. For some unknown reason they kept returning after twenty four hours and she just had to live with it.
She brightened herself up before the door opened and Eddie and Jade walked in.
"You're way past your curfew" she reminded. She was aware of how dangerous the nights were and having her babies out there by this time was extremely dangerous.
They both hung their head in apology hoping to be forgiven and they were.
She once again, unveiled their dinner with a swipe of her hand and sat to watch them eat. These two were the best thing that had ever happened to her and she would go to the greatest length to protect them even if t meant Killing herself.
