บท 5: Bayview Highschool
Bayview highschool housed more than just human students, It brimmed also with day walkers, witches, deadlings that witches had conjured up as children and possibly wolves.
They were in their final year in highschool and this was where the majority of these creatures dwelled. They were barely up to fifteen humans in their class, with the majority being vampires and the minority being the witches with Eddie being the only wolf in the entire class.
Eddie sat close to Scott while Jade sat directly behind him a vampire by her right and a human boy by her left. They all minded their business in the school avoiding trouble at all cost even though the vampires made that extremely difficult for both the humans and some witches.
He walked down the hallway with Scott the two of them heading for Lockers while Jade had already headed off to her next class.
Scott hadn't told them anything yet about Nicole's invasion and the fact that he had invited her in.
He had decided to keep it to himself, telling Eddie probably meant him going after her and ending her life and he did not honestly want that. Killing her could mean the vampires targeting him for revenge or worse his friends and family and eventually, he'd get caught up in everything.
They found the books needed and walked towards their next class when they ran into Stewie Grant. A vampire and a notorious bully. He was one of the people everyone avoided and for good reason. He wasn't as big as other bullies were but he was rumored to have gotten his sunlight ring after just two years of being turned which not only meant that he had killed a considerable amount of people but also attested to the fact that he was powerful. They didn't know what he could possibly still be doing in highschool when he be was over a century year old.
As usual, they had minded their business and continued their journey but Stewie had decided that he wasn't satisfied with letting them leave peacefully. He had started by smacking Eddie's notes off his hand, but when he had ignored the bully and crouched low to pick his fallen books, the bully had decided to step on his fingers aiming to crush them but Eddie had retaliated.
His wolf strength had kicked in he had grabbed the vampire, and in a single pull and twist of the leg, brought him down on the floor with a heavy thud.
He couldn't lie to himself, he had always wanted to do this and it felt so good getting the rage out of his system.
Everybody in the hallway had paused, their gasps and murmuring filling the atmosphere while they stood and watched the ongoing drama. They were probably pitying Eddie, nobody crossed Stewie and got away with it, they would either show up to school the next day wearing casts or sometimes, they never came back at all.
The vampires that followed him like mindless sheep had rushed forward to join in but Stewie had stopped them. The both of them now stood and faced each other.
Stewie was smiling, probably cooking up some mischievous plan in his head and taking joy in his fantasized victory while Eddie kept a blank expression looking the bully dead in the eyeballs with no sign of remorse.
They both continued their eye contest untill a teacher showed up yelling at them to get to class before they finally tore apart their gaze and went the opposite direction.
"Dude, what did you just do?" Scott asked. Eddie had been trying to keep his friend from meddling into vampire affairs but here he was buying a ticket for a VIP spot at the front row.
Eddie only smiled, he knew what would come after this, Stewie was never going to let this slide, he had been humiliated publicly and he was aware of how prideful vampires were of their reputation. He was prepared for any event that came afterwards, and he wasn't scared at all.
The news of their encounter had suddenly spread like wildfire and soon everybody was talking about it. Most of them were with him for standing up to the bully while the rest called him foolish and were already feeling sorry for him.
Jade stormed out of the her class immediately the dismissal bell came alive and caught up with them. She had already heard of the rumors and even though she was proud of her brother, she definitely knew the endgame of whatever Stewie was cooking and it didn't taste very good. They always avoided meddling with vampires because all they ever did was cause trouble here and there. Few of them were good but the bad majority made it almost impossible to spot the good ones.
They walked home with Jade constantly torturing Eddie with the fact that he had crossed the path of a day walker and he should be ready to fight his war while cuddling Scott's arm.
He had already made up his mind that he wasn't planning on running away or backing down from a fight not one where he knew he was right.
Stewie and he had never really crossed path, this was their first encounter and it was going to be a memorable one.
The two siblings headed towards home, Scott had taken a turn a couple blocks away and left and now it was only he and Jade who wouldn't stop talking. The two of them had stopped after they heard footsteps behind them, they were still in the streets but when they'd turned, they saw Stewie and his crew.
Could they playing or were they being serious, they never really fought in public because of the risk of exposing themselves but that was when it dawned on him, Stewie was a vampire and concealing his strength was way easier than a witch doing so with his spells. He had attacked him knowing he wouldn't be able to utilize magic in public and he had to admit, it was very clever for a bully.
He smiled to himself inwardly, they didn't know what he had up his sleeve but he was willing to show them.
