Maya helped Azalea climb the small steps in front of their new house, then helped Old Bat raise Jason's stroller.
"I like it here. Mrs. Casgrove said there's a beach close by where we can go and watch the sunset together later," Old Bat muttered, standing straight after she had entered the house.
Maya nodded. The weeks that had passed after hearing Victor call her a setback were tormenting enough, but she still tried to live day by day just to be strong for her child.
"Have you told her? I mean, about Azalea?" Maya asked.
