บท 67: Masks

Without saying anything else, Korbin slammed the door shut, narrowing missing the maid's foot. 

"They're really going too far with this." The fury in his eyes was evident. 

"I thought you were the almighty Northern King," Daphne joked. "Why is it that even a maid can look down on you?" 

"That's not the issue here." 

"That's not?"

He eyed the scanty dress in the box. "Princess, I'm used to people looking down on me. I have my pride, but I know when to conceal it. But you've always been the high and doted Princess of Eversun…" 

That statement hadn't really been true ever since her parents had passed away. 

"You put me in a scanty dress to be paraded around the streets." Daphne was one to hold a grudge. 

He stooped lower, looking at her eye level instead of towering over her.
