บท 18: A clue
At the late evening, they received a message from the team to meet earlier than promised. Well, just a day earlier though. However, Li Jun said that he wanted to wait for the supplies so, he asked Black to reply that they are on their way but encountered difficulties. Li Jun had a 'travellers diarrhoea', he said. That night, they went out from the small town to the road connecting the town to outside world. The road was surrounded with trees and forest, so they had used it to their advantage.
Early morning on the next day, the supplies from the mainland had arrived to the small town. Black waited at the road behind the trees while Li Jun waited at the main complex where the supplies would be transferred.
"They are here." The walkie talkie sounded.
"Noted. Come here when they are out of your sight."
"Okay." Black replied and moved from his hiding place to the jeep.
When two trucks arrived at the main complex, Li Jun was looking from a hidden spot with a binoculars. It was busy at that area with people bringing down the stuff, counting and arranging all of it into the storage before it could be transfer to the market. Nothing seems out of place. Not until he spotted a shiny thing falling down from the truck.
He put down his binoculars into the backpack and walked towards the area. It was guarded by a few local policemen. "Hey, we met few days back, remember?" Li Jun approached a familiar policeman. "Aaaa, yes. You and your friend, coming here for a study right?"
"Hahaha. Yes, we went to the village and met the people there. They are helpful to help us with our research."
Of course, they were under covered. Li Jun spoke a bit more with the policeman while sometimes his eyes diverted to the truck behind the officer. Now, on the ground he could clearly saw a needle. "What do they bring here?"
"Ouh, why don't you come and see? You could write it in your reports too." That polite officer showed him the supplies while Li Jun recorded it in his book. When he found the right spot, he dropped the pen and retrieved it with the needle. It was a swift moment which goes unnoticed by anyone. After that little tour, Li Jun went to a coffee shop where Black was waiting for him.
"Found anything?" Li Jun nodded.
"Let's head back first." They exited the small town and went to their main camp.

At C City,
"Boss, I lost her."
"You are so useless! Forget it! I'll deal with her later. Come now. I need to go to the border. The buyers will arrived there in two days time."
"Noted, boss."
...
The next day, CP 3 drove Yueming's car from the inside compound into the city. However, it seems like there was no sign of him being followed so, he called Grandpa Zhou to report it. Since it was safe, Yueming and his accompanies continued their journey again after lunch time.
