Mike knew that the bullet had passed very close to his head because he heard the hiss as he fell down pushed by his friend. If it hadn't been pushed by Jack, the projectile would have hit the middle of his chest.

Both men crawled to their backpacks and drew two pistols from them, while Berglund screamed.

"Nick, stay behind that rock, don't stick your head out."
