How was he alive? The last thing he remembered was being severely injured, fighting the Hellhounds, helping Esme until… Until that prick, Ethan showed up. The prick caused the life to drain from Esme's features.

She'd fought those assassins with such lethality and looked as though she could take on the world. Yet the moment Ethan showed himself, she froze. And what did Leo do?
