บท 156: Chapter 155

[Third Person's PoV]

"The Sun?" Alpha asked in complete surprise.

"The Sun," Cid nodded in confirmation. "If you notice, each pair of divinities complement each other well and are linked to one another. Like Epsilon's Melody and Frequencies, both related to sound, whereas Zeta's Combat and Metal are related to, well, combat."

"How is metal related to combat?" Epsilon asked, confused.

"Metal is connected to weaponry, that's why," Cid briefly explained.

"I see, so the Sun and Fertility are related to life, right?" Alpha asked.

Cid nodded in confirmation. Not long after, they felt a sudden change in mana quality followed by the sound of an explosion. They turned to see who it was and found Eta fast asleep, surrounded by a green aura as she floated in the air.

"Did she really...?" Epsilon was shocked, unable to finish her sentence.

Alpha finished it for her, "Become a goddess while sleeping? It seems so." Even she was equally shocked.

'Eta has her own form of mana rotation; while she sleeps, she developed a technique that allows her to purify the mana inside her core. Although I call it a technique, it's more of a subconscious action,' Cid thought in amusement.

Using his Ruler's Authority, Cid gently lifted Eta from the air and brought her close to his lap, providing her with a pillow. Her lips curled into a small grin as he brushed her hair.

Alpha and Epsilon looked towards Cid, burning with curiosity, wanting to know Eta's titles.

"Let's see here... oh? These are some interesting titles she possesses: Eta, the Goddess of Wisdom and Alchemy; the Dreamer of Eternal Sloth; one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the Poisonous Sage; and the Endless Sleep That Accompanies Death."

Even in her sleep, Eta lifted her head and kissed Cid on the cheek before settling back into his lap.

"Phew, that's only 5. I still have more," Epsilon said, putting a hand to her chest and letting out a sigh of relief.

Alpha rolled her eyes and scoffed, "You only have 1 more than her; don't let it go to your head. Just because you have more titles doesn't make you better."

Epsilon scoffed, pushing her hair back with her hand, "If you're jealous, just say so; no need to be so fussy about it."

Alpha covered her eyes and sighed, 'She has become arrogant since becoming a goddess. I'll have to put her in her place later.'

After a while, it was someone else's turn to become a goddess, and that person turned out to be Beta.

A silver-white aura rose from Beta's body, causing her silver hair to float. The wind picked up, tousling everyone's hair, and dark clouds began to gather in the skies.

'We don't have clouds in the Shadow Realm...' Cid thought with a smile.

When Beta landed, she ran towards Cid with her arms outstretched, "Master~"

Arriving at Cid, she sat on his other lap and leaned her head back towards him.

Cid began to pamper her, and soon all eyes were on him expectantly.

"Beta, the Goddess of the Sky and Archery; the Seductress of Unending Lust; one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the Elven Storyteller; and the Muse Enthralled by Death."

Beta started to pout, "These are good... but they aren't 'The Endless Sleep That Accompanies Death.'"

Cid kissed her cheek and reassured her, "They are perfect as they are. They are all about you, so they must be perfect."

Beta blushed bright red, "You sweet talker."

Cid then turned towards Gamma, noticing her sweating a bit as she concentrated.

After 30 minutes, they felt an aura appearing in the distance where Zeta had once been.

"If I had to guess, I'd say Delta broke through?" Alpha guessed.

Cid nodded before his eyes widened, "Oh wow, she has more than 2 Divinities..."

"WHAT!?" They all exclaimed, looking towards the distance.

They turned back to Cid, gazing at him with impatience. After all, everyone had only two; they were curious what made Delta so special that she had more than two.

Cid began reading out all of Delta's titles, "Delta, Goddess of the Hunt, the Wild, Mountainous Strength, Wolves, and Battle—"

Cid didn't finish as they all shouted, "HUHHHH!?"

They all wore looks of disbelief. Although they didn't fully understand the concept of Divinities, they knew Delta having 5 was a big deal. After all, they all only had 2, so Delta having twice as many was shocking.

"What are the rest of her titles?" Epsilon asked, already feeling uneasy.

"The Berserker of Murderous Wrath; one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the Embodiment of Sins; the Reaper of the Battlefield; the Shadow's Watchdog; the Beast That Bathes in Blood; Kin Slayer; The Prodigy; and the Wolf That Hunts with Death."

"NOOOOOO!" Epsilon shouted in devastation.

Everyone looked at her strangely.

"Why does she have more titles than me!? And why do they sound so much cooler than mine!?" Epsilon asked, with a defeated expression.

Cid rubbed her back, trying to console her, and turned towards Gamma, the only one left who hadn't transformed.

Her eyes were tightly closed, tears gathering at the corners.

Seeing this, Cid sighed and excused himself, walking up to Gamma. He sat in front of her and took her hand, causing her to open her eyes.

Her lips quivered as she lowered her head in shame, "I–" She choked up.

"Gamma… it's okay, take your time," Cid said softly as he held her hand.

"But I don't want to be left behind… Everyone always advances so much quicker than I do. I've never been that good when it comes to magic or fighting. I've had to work twice as hard just to be able to use my magic properly."

Cid continued to speak softly to her, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb. "Gamma, you're not going to be left behind. I promise you that." He kissed the back of her hand gently. "Here, let me help you. Close your eyes," he advised.

Gamma obeyed, and Cid began controlling his mana, gently guiding it into Gamma.

He helped Gamma guide her mana, slowly purifying it. Cid only assisted slightly, allowing Gamma to purify the rest on her own.

After a few minutes, Gamma's brows began to relax, and moments later, a bluish-purple aura exploded from her.

Everyone started breathing heavily as they felt their bodies pressed towards the ground.

Cid helped Gamma control her new aura and abilities, guiding her to store it inwardly.

When they both opened their eyes, Cid smiled at her. "Congratulations, you are now officially a goddess."

Gamma leapt into his arms, wrapping hers around him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," she repeated, kissing his cheeks over and over, which made Cid chuckle.

"Alright, alright, let me read you your titles."

Gamma sat back down, looking at him eagerly like a student awaiting test results.

"Gamma: The Goddess of Gravity and Space, The Witch of Excess Greed, One of the Seven Deadly Sins, The Untalented Hard Worker, The One Most Pampered by Death."

Gamma rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment upon hearing her last title.

Cid stood up and offered Gamma his hand. Once she took it, he turned towards everyone and smiled proudly.

"Congratulations, everyone. You have all become goddesses. You should all be proud of yourselves."

Everyone cheered and rushed towards Cid, tackling him in a hug. Zeta and Delta ran over and jumped on the pile as well, while Cid laughed in amusement.
