บท 46: 46. Reason

Hearing Rei's question, Narumi who was getting up sat back in her seat. She looked at him puzzled and asked him, "Why do you want to go today Rei? We still have time to go."

Rei then told everyone in the tale what happened to him as he played with the small boy. He told them everything, about how he felt the same but also felt peaceful when Tensei touched him.

Hearing this everyone got surprised. Shidou was the first to recover and asked him, "Is this really what happened Rei."

Rei nodded and confirmed for them, "Yes Old man this happened today morning."

Narumi just nodded and told, "Ok then we will go to Dr.Tenga today." and got up to clean all the dishes.

Meiko went with Narumi and the rest went into the hall to watch some television. Narumi came after some time and informed Rei that the Dr.Tenga told them to come today and have a thorough session. Rei went and changed his clothes as he will be going out. After changing the saw Narumi who was also ready and both of them went towards the clinic.

Reaching the clinic they went inside and the receptionist who saw them coming showed them towards Dr.Tenga's office. The receptionist knew them for the past two years and was informed to bring them to the office by Dr.Tenga. Rei went inside as Narumi sat outside anxiously about the situation.

Going inside Rei sat across Jim in silence. Jim was the first to break the silence, "How was your day Rei."

"It was good Dr.Tenga."

"Now tell me Rei why did you call for an early meeting."

Rei proceeded to tell him what happened today morning when he was on a jog. He told how he met the child and how he was forced to play with the boy, how his heart raced when he was about to throw the ball, how he saw Tensei near him, how his heart slowed down when Tensei touched him and how he was not able to hear what Tensei was saying.

Hearing all this from Rei, Jim wrote down some notes and wondered why this happened now when they tried so many times these past 2 years. He kept on thinking about this incident and listened to what Rei was saying.

After Rei completely narrated all the things which happened, silence took over the office. Rei felt nervous and couldn't speak meanwhile Jim was thinking about why this happened.

Jim smiled and told after a while, "It's ok Rei. This Is a good sign that you are recovering. Take things slowly and you will completely recover over a period of time."

Rei nodded but didn't reply. Jim continued, "Do you want to try playing now Rei and we will see if it will happen again."

Rei was uncertain about it but nodded at the end. Jim got up from his seat and went to a nearby shelf by his desk and opened it. He took out a baseball ball from it and closed it. He threw the ball at Rei and stood to wait for the ball again.

Rei gripped the ball and got his arm back to throw it. As he winded up he's vision distorted again and fell down. He clutched his head as the panic and pain took over. He raised his head and saw Tensei again in front of him. He looked at Tensei's face and could see his lips moving but there was no voice coming out.

Rei opened his mouth to ask but like last time Tensei vanished into golden particles. Rei closed his eyes and opened them again to see Jim in front of him with a glass of water in his hand.

Jim asked Rei with concern, "Are you okay Rei. Drink some water." and handed the glass to him.

Rei drank the water and kept the glass aside. He stood up and slowly made his way towards the couch in the office. As he sat he told Jim, "I saw Otou-san again Dr.Tenga. Like last time he was trying to tell something but I wasn't able to hear."

Jim patted his back and told, "Ok Rei, I understand."

Then both of them proceeded to talk till the allotted time was done. They both went out and saw Narumi sitting outside, waiting anxiously for them. She stood up as they came out and went near.

Narumi looked towards Rei and told him, "Rei go towards the car I will come in a minute." Rei nodded and went outside and stood by their car.

Narumi turned towards Jim after he went and asked, "Is he ok Jim?"

"He is alright Narumi. He is slowly opening up and will recover after some time."

Narumi then went outside and got into the car and drove back home. Reaching home Narumi went straight ahead to make lunch for everyone and Rei went to watch some Television. Rei saw Meiko sitting on the couch watching some program and sat beside her.

Meiko noticed him coming in and asked, "Oh you are here Rei. How did it go?"

Rei nodded and replied, "It went well Meiko. Where is Sora, I don't see him." looking around to find Sora.

Meiko turned back towards the television and said, "He is doing his homework."

Rei nodded and sat beside her to watch. After sometime Narumi came and called both of them for lunch. Sora was already there by the time they went, so they sat and had lunch with them.

After eating lunch Rei helped Narumi with washing the dishes and went towards his room to sleep for some time as he had no work. He sat on his bed, looked at the photo of him with Tensei, and laid back. Thinking about what happened and the hope that he can play baseball again was on his mind. He shook the thoughts out and slept.
