( REI POV )
*TRING* *TRING* *TRING*
Hearing the noise, I moved my hand and slammed the clock stopping it. Hearing the alarm stop, I slowly raised my body from the bed. I felt drowsy as it was still early in the morning and the sun was rising. I got up from the bed for my early jog. The summer holidays rolled by since yesterday.
I wanted to jog early in these holidays to stay fit. Wearing my shoes, I made my way towards the main door. Going out of the house, I shivered from the cold and frost around. There was a little fog but not enough to obstruct my vision.
I slowly jogged in the streets. It was only me today as Sora was too lazy to wake up early on holiday. As I jogged, I greeted the vendors on the street who were getting ready for business early. Jogging on the same road for the past 2 years helped me to meet these people and know them.
I continued to jog and went past the park I jogged 2 years back. Now my body is more fit, allowing me to jog longer distances. I continued to maintain the same pace as I jogged and continued for another half an hour. I reached a small riverbank and stopped there as my destination
The view was wonderful as the sky was orange from the sunrise. Birds chirping at the view. I sat down on the grass as I collected my breath. I cleaned the beads of sweat rolling down from my forehead.
I wondered about my life these past 2 years. I grew closer to the family and I treat them as my own. They were very nice to me these two years, always supporting me. They helped me when I was feeling sad and depressed.
The therapy sessions with Dr. Jim didn't help me in these past 2 years. I have tried to play baseball multiple times these past years, but the same vision of dad standing and looking at me appears before me, making me panic.
The school has been wonderful too. Keiko and Mizuki are my best friends aside from Izumi. The two of them stayed with me these past two years. Thinking of Izumi, I wonder how he is doing now and whether he is still playing baseball. I wonder how he would react if he knows I stopped playing baseball.
I stood up and dusted my pants off. I turned around and jogged back towards home. Going back home my neighbours and I greeted each other on the way. Reaching home, I was full of sweat again. Opening the door, I went towards my room and took a towel with a change of clothes. I took a bath and went back. My room transformed with time.
Now there were a couple of books laying down on the side. With other stuff. I always kept the room clean as it felt weird if it wasn't. Both Keiko and Mizuki teased me when they came to my room saying I was a clean freak, which isn't bad to have.
Feeling hungry, I went towards the kitchen. I saw Narumi-san already preparing dishes for today. I helped her.
She saw me and said, "Oh! Good Morning Rei."
"Good Morning Oba-san."
"So Rei, what did you plan today?"
"I have to go out with the Senpai from the cooking club Oba-san. I won't be for lunch."
She nodded and said, "That is good Rei. Those both were good to you this year."
I nodded and asked, "Yes, Oba-san." what Narumi-san said was true. They both helped me to not think about baseball and were always kind to me throughout the year.
I continued to help her prepare breakfast. Completing the preparation, she turned towards me and said, "Rei, Can you wake up Meiko and Sora. I will wake up, father."
I nodded and went towards Sora's room. I opened his door without knocking and went in. Going inside, he received me with everything scattered around and didn't surprise me. I came here too many times to feel surprised at the scene. I saw him sleeping like a log hugging his pillow.
I pushed him towards the wall. He groaned as he hit the wall and woke. He looked towards me and asked, "What happened Rei?"
I nodded and replied, "Come and eat Sora. Oba-san is calling you."
He groaned and nodded. I smiled and went back out. I went to Neiko's room and knocked. I felt it was improper to barge into a girl's room. There was no response, so I knocked harder.
There was a loud groan from the other side so I said with a loud voice, "Meiko come and eat Oba-san is calling."
She replied with full of laziness in her voice, "Ok rei."
I nodded and went back towards the dining hall to see both Shidou-san and Narumi-san already sitting. Shidou-san was reading the newspaper as he does every day and Narumi-san wasn't doing anything.
I sat across Narumi-san. She asked, "Did you wake them up, Rei."
I nodded and asked, "Oba-san, when is Oji-san coming home."
She thought for a while and said, "Shiro will probably come back in a week, Rei. He still has to deal with some stuff as they won the tournament." I nodded as he would have to work because they were champions again. Last year the Saitama Crushers lost in the semifinals, making the Tokyo Blazers gain the championship.
We both continued to talk and after 10mins Meiko and Sora came and sat down. Shidou-san kept the paper down and we all ate breakfast.
Completing my breakfast, I went back towards my room as Meiko helped Narumi-san wash the dishes. I sat on my desk and did some homework given as I still had time to head out.
Doing the homework for another 2 hours, I completed a subject and felt satisfied. Checking the time, I noticed the meeting time was near. I quickly changed my clothes to something better and went out of the room.
