บท 38: 38. First Day

*FEW DAYS LATER*

(THIRD PERSON POV )

Summer vacation was finally over and Rei was now standing before the gates of his new school, alone. Sora and Meiko went towards the middle school division, which had a different entrance. He looked around to notice many kids going in and some parents leaving them. He felt bitter seeing the parents as he had none now. The three walked towards the school instead of anyone dropping them

These last few days Rei did nothing. He regularly went jogging till the near park to stay fit. He also accompanied Sora and Meiko towards their club practice sometimes. Sora and Meiko stopped fighting and got back how they were usually.

He then felt a car stopping behind him. It was a black limousine. The door opened, and a buff man came out and opened the main door.

From the door came out a girl around his age. She had silver hair left waving in the air. She looked very cute wearing the school uniform. She was as tall as Rei and looked wild. A butler handed her a school bag and stood beside the car. She started walking towards Rei and passed him, going into the school.

Noticing the girl going away, the car drove away. Rei turned his head towards the school, not minding what happened. He was suspicious why the girl had to make such an entrance; he didn't wonder about it much and headed inside.

As he headed, he heard some parents talking about the girl.

"Why does she enter such a way?"

"She doesn't have to show people she has money."

Rei frowned upon hearing them. Even though he doesn't know the girl, he felt sad that older people are themselves speaking in such a manner. He thought they shouldn't care about how the girl comes or goes.

He then entered the school and searched for his class. Yesterday Shirogana told them what class they are in and he went accordingly.

Reaching the class, Rei felt nervous. He took a deep breath and entered the class. Everyone was talking to each other and didn't notice Rei. Rei slowly sat on the back of the class near the window. As he sat, he looked around and noticed the rich girl was also in his class. She was sitting alone, and no one was around her.

Rei didn't mind her and observed the others. Everyone was talking with each other and sharing where they went for summer. He then just looked outside the window and noticed the birds flying around.

As Rei continued to observe the birds, the class suddenly went silent. He turned his head and saw a tall man standing by the door. He walked up to the center before all the students and cleared his throat.

Seeing he gained their attention, he smiled and said, "Hello! Everyone, My name is Hori Minoru. I will be your teacher for this year and I hope everyone will get together."

Seeing all of them listening he continued, "You probably all know each other from previous classes. But there are two fresh students joining the class. Can you both come up and introduce yourself?" He pointed towards Rei and another girl.

Rei stood up and noticed the girl. It was the same girl he saw in the Principal's office. She had a ponytail and wore the school uniform like the others. He went ahead to the front and stood next to the girl.

He didn't feel too nervous standing before others, while the girl was fidgeting feeling nervous.

Minoru smiled and said, "Ok, the two of you introduce yourself. First you introduce yourself." pointing at Rei.

Rei nodded and said in an audible tone, "My name is Toujou Rei. Nice to meet you all." Re kept it short as he didn't want to tell everything.

The girl who was fidgeting intoned, "M-My Name i-is Kataoka Keiko. Nice t-to meet you all." she was nervous all the time and continuously shuttered as she introduced herself. This made her look cuter.

Minoru nodded and told them to go back and sit. They both sat back in their places and the classroom was silently paying attention towards Minoru.

Minoru nodded and proceeded, "Ok! Now let's decide the seats according to the lottery. As I call your name everyone, please come up and take a slip from the box and sit accordingly. These will be your places for the rest of the year." placing a box on the table.

He called the students one after one. Rei also took a slip. It was the seat he was sitting in all this time. Satisfied with his seat, he sat. When it was Keiko's turn, she took a slip. She came to the side and saw her slip. She looked around to find it and came towards Rei and sat beside him.

Rei didn't mind her sitting beside him and kept quiet. Keiko while sitting kept glancing towards Rei wanting to introduce herself, but kept quiet as she was too shy.

The Rich girl then took a slip and came and sat in front of Rei. Rei sighs as he notices how he is surrounded by girls. After everyone sat down in their places, the teacher started the class.

The classes went on until the lunch break. Hearing the bell, everyone exhaled in relief, and the teacher went out. Everyone talked while Rei took out the lunch Narumi gave him. He slowly ate his lunch.

While he was eating he remembered something Shidou told him before going to sleep, 'Listen here Rei, Tomorrow you will start school and remember to make some friends. It doesn't matter whether they are a boy or a girl, but make some friends.'

Rei made these two people who sat near him his friends. He gobbled down his lunch and kept it back inside his bag. He then turned towards the girl beside him. As she was also a fresh student like him he wanted to talk with her before the girl before him.
