( REI POV )
After seeing dad in such a state was unimaginable. The world around me started to collapse, I was unable to stop it. It felt like a nightmare, I tried to shout dad's name but it didn't help. My consciousness slowly started to fade away and everything turned black. I tried to open my eyes, but when I did a breathtaking view appeared before my eyes. There was a starry sky and I could hear waves of water crashing on the shore. I shouted but there was no response. Then suddenly the starry sky showed clips of my life as a movie. I saw my every fond memory and how my dad was the pillar of support in my life.
As I continued to see all the memories I shared with my dad the clips suddenly stopped. I heard a sound and I turned to the source to only see my dad's bloody figure again. I slowly walked towards the body. My body was shaking and my legs felt heavier as I continued to walk. The body suddenly turned around and walked away. I tried shouting but there was no response. He suddenly turned back and smiled at me slowly vanishing into golden particles. My legs couldn't take it anymore as my chest felt pain. I kneeled and looked at the sand. I looked up with my eyes full of tears waiting to come out anytime.
I shouted, closing my eyes, "OTOU-SAN" trying to get all the sorrow out of me. I opened my eyes to only see I'm in a room. I turned around and noticed a nurse standing by the door and folders near her feet fallen down.
I tried to speak but a hoarse voice came out, "Have you seen Otou-san." but there was no response from her. It felt like she froze, so I asked louder with the same hoarse voice, "Have you seen my Otou-san." her body suddenly shook and she ran out of the room without giving me any response.
I turned my head to see the view outside the window. Various birds were flying in the sky and people of various ages were walking around.
The door burst open and Shirogana-san came inside running towards me. He then placed his hand on my head and started to pat me. So I asked him, "Oji-san where is Otou-san I don't see him anywhere."
As I asked him, his body started to shake violently and teardrops started to fall on the dress I was wearing. I looked up to see his eyes filled with tears and some of them rolling down his cheek. He slowly said with a voice filled with sadness and remorse, "Rei Ten...Tensei is no more. H-He died in the accident."
I couldn't help but doubt his words so I asked him again, "Oji-san, where is my Otou-san."
His body shook more violently as more drops fell on my dress. His voice became heavier as he said, "Tensei is no more."
Hearing his voice clearly I understood what he was saying. I felt my heart become heavier and pain rose on my chest. Trying to get my feeling out I shouted, "HOW CAN THI....." before I completed the sentence my vision faded away as I fell unconscious again.
( SHIROGANA POV )
As I entered the room I noticed him looking out of the window. His body became thinner. He slowly turned and I got a good look on his face. His face looked completely blank and the colors drained. I immediately ran towards him and took him into a hug. I started to slowly pat his head trying to console him.
I heard his voice, which was completely hoarse, devoid of any emotions, "Oji-san where is Otou-san I don't see him anywhere." Hearing him my body started to shake as tears started to gather and they slowly fell.
I tried to tell him in a low voice, "Rei Ten...Tensei is no more. H-He died in the accident." my voice cracked in the middle as I was finding it difficult to tell him.
I heard his voice again, "Oji-san, where is my Otou-san." this time the pain in my chest increased hearing Rei asking about Tensei. My body shook more as the tears overflowed. I told him again, "Tensei is no more."
He then shouted, "HOW CAN THI....." and his body fell on mine. He lost consciousness once again.
I felt the pain increase as I rushed out of the door worried about Rei losing his consciousness. I found the doctor looking after him and told him, "Doctor he fainted again. Please go check on him. I'm worried." he rushed towards the room with a couple of nurses following behind him.
I stood near the door. My boss felt heavy seeing Rei in such a state. The doors then opened and the doctors came out again. He came near me and said with complete seriousness, "His physical condition is alright but.." He then started to hesitate. I spoke with complete seriousness as I braced myself, "Doctor please give it to me straight "
He took a deep breath and continued, "His mental condition is very weak and if he faces any severe depression he would lose consciousness." I was startled listening to him. I asked him as my voice shook, "Until when would this happen doctor."
He then said, " We can not predict it. It completely depends on him, he has to overcome by himself all we can do is support him from the side." and patted my shoulders as he walked past me.
Hearing that Rei's condition is so severe my legs lost their strength and slowly fell on the chair leaning on the wall. I slowly recalled the moment I heard the news about the accident.
