The same night Jia couldn't get any sleep. She kept twisting and turning on the bed, thinking about the case.

"Xin Manchu had paused for a moment when I said that he was probably cast out of the project," she mumbled to herself. "He is lying. He knows that it's not a rumor. Then that gives him a motive too. And if Guo Juan is right then it makes sense why Chow Mey would be a perfect scapegoat."

She remembered her conversation with Guo Juan.

'No. I didn't feel any such resentment from Miss. Chow towards Director Wan.'

"She knows something. She averted her eyes when she said that. Considering that they had become close at work, it's possible that Chow Mey told her something about Wan Guanting. But she doesn't want to reveal that because she feels that it will only worsen her case. She wants to protect her."
