“Zack! Help!”
I stopped and twirled around, looking for my sister and inadvertently bonking Zoe’s dead head on a candy cane-shaped lamp post.
“Up here! Zack! Help!”
Looking up, my heart sunk. Ronnie was in one of the cupcakes, naturally the one that had been raised up the highest. She was maybe forty feet off the ground and as near as I could tell was handcuffed to the safety bar.
“Ronnie! Xander, it’s Ronnie!” I started to race over to the ride when Xander grabbed my arm.
“Wait! Wait!” He said. “They’re all over it!”
He pointed, and I saw a mass of mouth non-breathers scramble over one another in an attempt to get at the fresh meat handcuffed to the cupcake hanging over their heads.
“We’ve got to save her!”
“She’s fine,” reassured Xander. “They can’t get to her way up... oh.”
