We took Gary, too.
Cecil wasn’t thrilled, not wanting to put any more innocent lives in danger. I wasn’t thrilled either, but only because I didn’t want Gary to be around when I swooped in and saved Zoe’s life. Three’s a crowd. But in the end, it was kind of hard to leave him behind, what with him already in the know and all. Also he kept whining about how he had to go rescue his girlfriend and how only he could save her because only he loved her and at that point I pretty much tuned him out.
So while Gary and I changed into actual clothes - I wasn’t too keen with the image of me coming to Zoe’s rescue in my Transformer jammies - Ronnie composed a note that we hoped would ensure that Mom and Larry didn’t fly off the handle when they woke up to find that I'd run off yet again and this time I'd taken Ronnie with me. I wasn’t exactly sure how you soothe your folks over the fact that their twelve year-old and fourteen year-old had run off in the night, but I left the details to her.
