บท 406: Guilt

Fu Jin woke up feeling light-headed. He closed his eyes as he tried to stop the buzzing in his head. He shook off the remnants of his nightmares before he opened his eyes.

The unfamiliar room immediately made him get alerted. He roamed his eyes around his surroundings, his brows furrowed, as he remembered what had happened before.

Then, he instantly jolted up.

'I must have fainted,' he thought.

Jiang Yue!

"Hmmm…" Fu Jin immediately turned his head and frowned when he saw Jiang Yue lying next to him. Her face was bruised and she looked as if she was in pain.

Seeing how Jiang Yue furrowed her brows, instantly made Fu Jin stroke her cheeks. "Shhhh..." he consoled her.

"Jin!" Jiang Yue stood up panicked, her gaze still dizzy. She then blinked for a couple of time before staring blankly at Fu Jin.

"Hey, are you okay?" Fu Jin slowly touched Jiang Yue's hand and pulled her back to the bed. Seeing her like this was making him realize how incompetent he was in protecting her.
