“How is this even possible?” William asked, staring at Duncan. Laci kept her grip on the ghost, her magic adding solidity to his body, as the other man reached out to touch his long-lost brother. “I saw your body, saw them carry you away. We buried you.”

Duncan nodded. “You did, I assure you. I’m very much dead. I’ve been a ghost for sixty years, treating Greta cruelly for something I did, I’m ashamed to say.” Tears fell down his face now that he had a physical body thanks to Laci’s power. He reached out, pulling his brother to him. “Oh, god, William, I’m so sorry. I was such an idiot. Please forgive me.”

William hugged his brother, tears also streaming down his face. “I’ve missed you so much. I would never betray you.”

“I should have known better,” Duncan said as he finally stepped back.
