Chapter 8 - A Taste of Honey
I stood there, taken aback, unsure of what to do. The kiss lingered on my lips, its sweetness enveloping my senses. Should I return the kiss? Alia screamed in the back of my mind, urging me to seize this opportunity. And so, I did.
As our lips met once again, a wave of ecstasy washed over me. Adrian's taste was exquisite, like honey with a hint of vodka. It was a flavor that captivated me, leaving me craving for more. He apologized for his lack of restraint, confessing that he couldn't hold himself back.
Blushing and thrilled by his admission, I reassured him that it was alright. Deep down inside, I knew that he couldn't resist me; his desire was evident in every touch and every stolen glance.
As Adrian bid his farewell and left my chamber, the sound of his footsteps echoed through the hallway. His elation after our kiss painted a smile on his face for all to see. Even as he walked away from me, it was clear that he couldn't contain his excitement.
"Prince Adrian," a voice called out as Adrian passed by someone in the corridor. Intrigued by the unfamiliar voice and keen to share his happiness with others, Adrian stopped and turned back with a big smile.
"You have a really kind friend," the stranger remarked as they exchanged pleasantries.
"Yeah," Adrian replied affectionately. "She's lovely."
Unknown to them both, another presence lingered nearby—a mysterious figure who observed their interaction with great interest.
"I suggest you cling to her and refuse to let her go," the stranger whispered cryptically to Adrian before thanking him once more in an almost eerie manner.
Adrian felt an unease creeping up within him as he distanced himself from this peculiar individual. What did they mean by "unique"? Should he inquire further? But no, he brushed off the thought, dismissing it as mere curiosity. Instead, his mind wandered back to the intoxicating kiss we had shared—the kiss that felt like no other he had ever experienced.
In another part of the pack's quarters, I groggily rose from my slumber and hurriedly covered the window with a curtain. The intrusive sunlight threatened to disrupt my restless sleep. Today was the day Prince Adrian had promised to give me a tour of the pack—an opportunity I eagerly awaited.
As I prepared myself for his arrival, thoughts raced through my mind. Would he be captivated by my presence? Would he be unable to tear his gaze away from me? With a mischievous smile on my face, I couldn't help but imagine catching his eye while standing there in nothing but a towel draped above my chest—a sight that would surely leave an indelible impression.
But then Alia's voice echoed in my head, reminding me of the fierce persona I projected in my brown leather jacket and armless top paired with jeans. "You look hot and fearless," she said. "No guy would dare cross your path; you'd kick their ass."
Her words brought about a burst of laughter as I contemplated making a change. After all, I didn't want to intimidate Adrian. Rifling through my wardrobe once more, I settled on a spaghetti-strap dress that ended just above my knee—a perfect balance between alluring and approachable—with a jacket thrown over it for added flair.
As I admired myself in the mirror wearing this new ensemble, confidence radiated from within me—I looked stunning.
And so, with excitement coursing through my veins and anticipation building up inside me like an electric current about to surge forth, I waited for Prince Adrian's arrival—the beginning of an unforgettable adventure in this newfound world where love and destiny intertwined.
