บท 107: The Endless Face of The Faceless

Looking into those gray eyes... Ah, it was too early for that. Fanfar collapsed right there. When he managed to open his eyes, he hoped to find himself in a bed. But that wasn't the case. He was lying on his back on the dead ground of the ashen world, and he was naked. He saw the twin suns, covered in silver, causing all the suffocating gray. They did not warm, they did not burn... All they did, in that angry void where the sky should have been, was stare at Fanfar. Staring as if they could see inside him as if they could tear his soul apart... Radiating an immense, overwhelming fear.

The moment Fanfar tried to move, the ground beneath him began to tremble. A violent earthquake sent ash scattering, while clouds of smoke were blown away, and Fanfar clung to the soil. But it was futile, as he rose with the ashes, rising and rising, pulled toward the silver suns.
