Being a cautious little bastard that I was, I decided to make a ceiling on top of us. I then controlled the platform that I made that was now our secret base to sink into the depths of the water. Even though I wasn't able to make it perfectly, I managed to pull the oxygen from the surface down into our small abode under the sea.
To light up the insides of our base, Alice used her light magic to light everything for us. It's a simple spell that all light magic users could do, and it's called, "Orb of Light". It's a spell that's not that complicated and even 5 years old can use it!
Anyway, we are currently relaxing and are taking our time to eat our food. Since the smell of our food continues to emanate in our small base, I decided to use wind magic to drive off the smell. Right now, our only problem is how we can take some bathroom breaks. Anyone can figure out that we do not have a toilet here, and that's the real problem.
I'm sure Alice and Scarlet would be too embarrassed to sh*t or pee in front of us, and not to mention there are people watching us outside of this dimensional box, so I decided to make a small square toilet bowl that's connected to the ocean, so that once we take a piss or sh*t, they would go flow into the ocean. I just don't know how to block everyone outside from watching us take our "breaks".
I only hope that my master has enough conscience not to record us while doing it.
I really, really hope.
"Ugh, I'm bored," Scarlet whined, "I want to do something but the space in here is too small!" She flailed her arms around as she was lying on the floor.
"Psh, you think you're the only one who's bored? I can't even do my daily 'training' as I read an erotic novel since you guys are here!' Randy, somehow not managing to be ashamed of himself, said with pure boredom.
"Shut it, Randy. No one wants to know your dirty secrets," I shot back, while reading the book "Since When Have We Stopped Fighting For Each Other?" It has a lengthy title but it's quite good. It's a story about a giant white lion and the princess of a kingdom, who's a very powerful warrior, fighting for each other. I've read this one before but it never fails to make me shed a tear. The lion died at the end, protecting the princess from the millions that were trying to kill them both.
"Easy for you to say! You like books! And Alice also likes books! That's why you guys can relieve your boredom!" He said, still whining.
*BAM!*
I took out a book from my storage ring and threw it at his face, and said, "There, try reading that!"
Grumbling, he rubbed his nose and picked up the book I threw at him, and read the title. The title read as "There Will Be Generations Because Of You".
I've also read that book before, and it was amazing. It tells a story about a hero, who, at the end of the story, was betrayed by his companions after arriving at the world's end and killing the evil that plagues the world. But even then, even when he died with a sword stabbed from his back, he still smiled, knowing that, because of him, there will be generations to live in the future of his world. He didn't care about his wellbeing, he never did. He only cared about saving the world, saving everyone in it. Even when those people don't deserve it, he still did it. He killed the evil, and now, he can rest, knowing he was successful.
Idiotic? Yes. But that was his character and that's how the hero grew up. It's an amazing story that foretells a tragic, yet peaceful ending.
"Ugh, I don't like reading other than for bomb research but I'll give it a try," Randy said, opening the book.
Looking at us, Scarlet just snorted, and said, "I'll just exercise to ease my boredom!" Then, she started doing push-ups.
I simply ignored their antics and continued to read my book.
(2 Days Later)
Time passed, and now we're 2 and half days into the Rank Battles. But in just those 2 days, the three teams that remained on the island besides us were shrunk to just 1 team. Only 1 team wanders the island, and I knew their mana signatures.
Since I am using my mana now, I can use it to scan the entire island for mana signatures. It's one of the main advantages for having great mana control and a huge amount of mana in my mana pool.
I frowned, seeing that there are only three people left other than us in this tournament. Victory is practically within my reach, but I feel empty. It feels like I'm cheating somehow, and, technically, I am. I \didn't gain my strength on my own; I used my clones and the books from the [Shop] for me to receive such a huge amount of power.
I feel empty for gaining strength that was just handed to me in a golden spoon.
But right now, that doesn't matter. What matters is that this is now my strength, and nothing can change that, ever.
I saw that my teammates were asleep, so I made a hole in the wall just enough for me to fit in and quietly left them in their slumber. I controlled the water from gushing into the hole before I left, and then I closed it with a wave of my hand.
The water around me wasn't touching me because I was using water magic to control and keep them at bay. So, I stayed dry as I slowly rose from the ocean.
As I rose into the air, I took a deep breath, slowly trying to get used to the surface again.
After that, I simply expanded the range of my mana sense and quickly located where the last team was. This team is the Combat Kings, and only three of them remained. The other one was defeated way earlier by the Harrowing Nightmares, who were surprisingly able to go on a stalemate with the Combat Kings for a while. But they lost and got their points given to the latter team. Now, they're probably watching what's happening outside.
Well, what's going to happen is me casting numerous fireballs that are as large as mountains!
I floated up in the sky, looking down on the island, seemingly staying still. But if one is proficient at mana sensing, they would sense the mana in me rising as I was about to show them hell.
I stayed still and the world was completely silent for a whole second, then the world erupted in hot flames. I spread my arms on each side, as, for the first time, I yelled my newly created spell…
"Meteor Inferno!" I just couldn't hold my excitement at seeing the sky burn as thousands of gigantic fireballs appeared, nearly exhausting 2/10 of my mana! These fireballs are way different than the normal ones as a huge amount of mana was compressed into them, making them harder than the average fire. Not only that, they are hotter and each of them could burn an entire town into oblivion.
There are 2,000 of them here!
I simply looked down on the soon burning island, as I brought my hand down, creating pandemonium.
Heh, it's hard to write nowadays. I have a huge headache right now, I was barely able to complete a chapter earlier. And I'll have to finish all 16 of my modules this week?
I have died inside a long time ago, but the rot haven't quite reached the surface yet.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter, stay well, and as always, thank you for reading!
