บท 46: Chapter 46: Tournament (Part 3)

(Third-Person POV)

'I have to beat her! The shame I felt that day is immeasurable, and only when she is down on her knees can my anger be quelled, just a little!' Tao thought as dozens of punches and kicks rained down upon Kali.

The boy used every bit of his martial arts to keep Kali from using her magic, because he cannot use spells. This is because of the events that transpired a few months ago when Kali and her friends left him to die in the mission to fight a bunch of kobold warriors. Out of desperation, he fought the kobolds and won but at the cost of his cultivation.

The kobolds crippled his cultivation before he managed to kill them, and he was almost at the inch of death when a thunderbolt struck him from the heavens.

That single thunderbolt managed to save his cultivation but with the price of rendering him unable to learn magic spells. But he was still able to learn martial arts, so he trained like hell for the past few months to enhance his physique and learn various martial arts.

He doesn't know what that thunderbolt did to him but it made him able to multitask. He can read dozens of manuals about martial arts and still remember them all!

'Kali is as agile as I remember her to be but she will still lose! As long as the members of white dragons are kept busy by my teammates, I can defeat her!' He said in his thoughts, knowing all too well that Kali is just buying time for her teammates to rescue her, which he will never allow!

Meanwhile, Kali knew that Tao was hungry for revenge but he is extremely calm for someone filled with anger. She thought that she was going to win this easily since he cannot use any magic spells anymore but he proved her wrong when he cornered her every chance to perform a spell.

Nothing is going too well for her at the moment.

This is just an all-out martial art fight, and she is bad at it.

Seeing that he couldn't hit her regardless of any blow, he decided to play dirty.

He targeted her foot, and tried to step on it, only for her to jump up to dodge his attack, which proved to be a fatal mistake when she saw that he just used an after-image to make her think that he was going for her foot. In reality, this was his aim all along.

"Force of A Hundred Tigers!" He slammed both of his palms to her stomach, making her puke blood in mid-air, and crashed to the wall of the stage.

*POW!* *CRASH!*

But he didn't stop there; he rushed at the fallen girl, squeezing every bit of his strength to his right fist, and when he reached her, he punched her chest so hard that he was sure he destroyed something in her.

*BAAAM!!*

With that last punch, he completely knocked her out.

He turned his back away from the girl, and then…

*Shick* *Shick* *Shick*

He felt 3 sharp objects pierce his back, and turned around to see Kali still standing but was also out of breath and is covered with her own blood!

(Auguste POV)

"Oooh! What is this folks!? Kali stood up and launched rock spears to Tao, hoping that it would work! But Tao practices the rock-skin manual, and spells like that won't injure him seriously!"

The fight became interesting as it became emotional. Tao seems to have a great amount of hatred for the blue-haired girl, and Kali became a snake just to defeat him. But I can see that those 3 rock spears won't make him faint, his skin is too hard and thick for that.

The reason that the girl managed to stay conscious was that she used barrier magic at the last second, and just hoped that Tao didn't see her use that.

Of course, Tao's punch was more than enough to injure her seriously, so the barrier only protected her a little.

Currently, she has bruises and blood all over her.

"Mhm, this is getting exciting," I said.

Tao stared at her for a moment, and then erupted. He took all 3 rock spears from his back and threw them all back at Kali, who pulled a wall of stone from the ground, blocking the spears.

But Tao was not done yet.

"Just stay down!!"

With so much force in his foot, he dashed towards the wall, punching through it, and then held the helpless Kali by the neck.

Mercilessly, he shoved her face to the ground and then grinding it to hurt her even more.

This merciless attack would disfigure the girl but he didn't care, vengeance is the only thing keeping him running at this point.

(With the Audience)

Vane sat on the chair provided to him by the sect and watched the teen grind the girl's face to the ground with only rage present on his face.

Vane looked worried… as if that scene reminded him of something.

(Back with Auguste)

Tao continued beating Kali to a pulp, and only stopped when she fell unconscious.

He stood in front of her fallen body, feeling victory,

The fight ended with Tao's team winning, meaning that only 8 strong teams remained because the White Dragons have been defeated, the other teams were filled with weaklings.

"Oh! Would you look at that folks! The Lords have won by a large margin! And would you look at their cruelty, they didn't even leave a single clue to recognize Kali's face! I wonder how our sixth elder would react to this!"

I whispered to my 3 teammates, "I will be going to take a nap, wake me up when our turn to fight is finally up."

They agreed to do that, and I closed my eyes.

I fall asleep instantly.

(An Hour Later)

After what I deemed a "few moments", I woke up to hear Alice saying my name and the proctor announcing our team name and another team's name.

I immediately stood up from my seat and got up.

I looked at Alice, and said, "Is it our turn?"

She nodded, "Y-Yes, and w-we have to g-go now."

I yawned, and asked, "Who's our opponents?"

This time, instead of Alice answering, Scarlet replied, "A team of four that have the cultivation of level 3 and level 4 in the foundation establishment stage. They are strong and known for bullying and extortion disciples. I've seen them myself since they tried to extort me, but only found out that I can also fight. They like to play dirty when they know that they can't match an opponent, so be careful of that."

She sounded serious, so that must mean that these four are quite strong. But even then, they are no match to me.

"Can the Heroes and the Monsters enter the stage? The audience is clearly getting bored out of their minds!" The proctor said.

A bit hazy, I still appeared in the middle of the stage in a flash, surprising most of the people watching. And the others followed suit, with Alice jumping down while embarrassingly hiding her face.

They all landed behind me, looking like some kind of team of superheroes.

'This is rather embarrassing.' I said in my thoughts.

"Oh! Here comes Team Heroes, looking like superheroes! But this is just a child, are they sure they should send a toddler into this fight? Nonetheless, team Heroes came in with a strong start, but how about team Monsters?? When are you guys entering the stage?" The proctor said with so much hype in his voice.

Soon after, a team of four arrived in front of us, all wearing black gis underneath their black cloaks. They all wore masks painted with two eyes and a smiling mouth, each of them having a different colored mask. White, yellow, red, and blue. Overall, they looked shady as hell.

The one wearing the red mask pointed at us and made a killing gesture.

I responded to him by flipping him the bird.
