บท 37: Chapter thirty seven

Sophia's heart skipped a beat. "Why did she stop?" Sophia wondered, anxiety creeping in.

"Does she want to come back for more insults?" But then Sophia noticed that someone was standing in Valerie's way, blocking her path.

Sophia's mind reeled with thoughts. "Was that Mr Sabastine standing there? Did he hear Valerie's voice and decide to show up? Would he really throw me out?" Sophia thought.

Sophia's world crumbled as she could only imagine the worst scenarios of the event. 

When Sophia looked up, her vision was still blurry from all the crying. However, as she rubbed her eyes, and looked at the figure again, she could see Alex standing there, his eyes fixed intently on Valerie. 

His presence seemed to command attention, and Sophia felt a glimmer of hope. "What's going on?" Alex asked his voice firm but curious, his tone authoritative.
