Velia reluctantly let him go, "You are welcome to visit," He added, curbing the urge to smoothen his furrowed brows.
Sarell just lightly bowed even though his confusion was still evident.
Velia stepped back, he had given Sarell so much privilege so that he would be able to freely speak up but it only served to make him more subservient. He went past him, leaving the room.
Making the decision to leave his father's castle was a split one. The driving cause was the realization that the safe space he made for himself could easily be crumbled by his father's whims.
He was tired of having to play guardian to his only parent, he couldn't singlehandedly stop an entire Kingdom from going to ruin.
I'm not really satisfied with this chapter and the previous one, I lost the chapters I had already written and had to rewrite them so I apologize if they aren't quality chapters
