บท 15: Author's Notes (Volume 1)
How are you, my dear readers?
Once again, but in another novel, greetings from Siegburn, your favorite author.
I want to take the opportunity to tell you about this new novel before I close this conversation.
To begin with, this novel went through four plot resets, even the names of countries and characters were written so instead of deleting them I changed them.
Let's go through those details because I'm sure you'll be curious.
"I will murder all the capture targets of that annoying otome game" a novel whose title says it all, the main character reincarnates as one of the capture targets and since he hates all the characters, he will kill the guys and get the villainess, the heroine was a bitch.
I discarded it because while writing the plot I was dissatisfied, I appreciated that I just wanted to vent in writing another otome, I invested 2 weeks in that, the ending was going to be the one they expected, but I told myself "meh" so rejected.
"The invincible demon lord doesn't want to die again" clearly a novel about slice of life. I wanted to write a simplistic novel with no real conflicts.
In the end I was disappointed because I realized that writing something this simplistic and boring leaves me sleepy, I invested three weeks in this one because it involved the prototype of the black roses, here they were called the "thorns of the end" and in the end the demon king became the new hero. Ah yeah, the demon king travels back in time because the god granted him that wish and no longer cause mayhem.
That's how dumb the plot was, good thing it had no people written in it other than filler and the main character.
"Starship Avalon" was to be the definitive, space-travelling, alien novel. Not that there was a problem, it's just that some complications arose with the planets and in the end I got angry because this is where the prototype theocracy came out.
I spent a month on this one and in the end I only saved some details of the theocracy and a certain country of idiots.
"Legion of Darkness" was also going to be about spaceships as it focused on an older game that contained a curse, which was that whoever played it died and woke up in this world where they had to fight Lovecraftian aliens.
I had three months to develop it and it was literally ready to go.
But there was a problem...
Too edgy for my tastes.
I felt this was too edgy for me.
You know what it's like to think something you write is too edgy?
I don't mean cringe was a real edge lord.
Gosh! It was so insufferable to try writing the protagonist's point of view, I felt like I was writing something emo era.
So I changed a few things and turned it into "Elysium World Adventure".
Now you may ask "That's not this novel. You're lying to us, author!"
Yes, it looks like that, but no.
The problem is this, yes, another problem.
The material or rather the lore of this novel was so extensive that I found many things ridiculous, and you would even say that they are forced and in fact they were.
It took me two months to do it and then one month for this novel, thus having almost 7 months since the end of vol 7 of my otome novel.
That's why I decided to split it in two like King Herod did to the baby XD.
There is the novel that deals with spaceships and the novel that deals with a god resenting the gods.
The two novels could be said to be one, but in different universes.
Would they be a real multiverse?
Well, I don't know without lying, the other novel would have to include things from this novel to bring out that multiverse.
But for now we are with that novel.
As a curious detail, all that edgy stuff I said, I sent it to one of the antagonists, who has its counterpart in this novel, that's right, we'll have one of the most hateful, insufferable and unbearable characters, you'll want to see it dead already.
That closes the reboot of 4 different stories, now let's go with the beginning of the plot that went through 2(3) different beginnings until we get to this(the 3rd one).
The first one started with Luke and Emma showing how cute they were and boom, Emma dies and that's when he meets Zelzeus.
I changed it because it was for the best, one of what will be the most beloved characters of the show was an enemy and I know it would hurt you to see it die, me too because in the end it wasn't a real enemy but someone manipulated by the enemy that I told you, you would hate to death.
You see why I told you it would be one of the best antagonists?
The second reboot was that it was all going to be a flashback to Zelzeus and at the end the real story would begin.
But I said it was too long to be a web novel, I'd have to make money so let's save that for when we make it real. That's why Zelzeus' past will be told as SS at the end of each volume.
That leaves the real beginning, what we saw in this volume.
That would be it for the origin of this novel.
Volume 1 was an introduction, I always say that volume 1 of my novels are the prologue, but this novel is different.
Volume 1 was just the introduction to his world, protagonist and life decisions.
Volume 2 is the real prologue and where we will start to see crazy things, this here was the equivalent of dressing up to climb a mountain, the next volume will be to start climbing it.
As a spoiler, volume 2 will start to introduce one of the most annoying (in terms of difficulty) antagonists that Regulus will have to face.
