บท 11: The Journey Back

Two figures sat opposite each other in a luxurious carriage. From the decoration and the materials used to make the seats, one could instantly tell who it was meant for.

Only the best could have such a fancy ride. Aside from the occasional bumps from the wheels, they were surrounded by a comfortable silence.

The King observed his mate, unabashed. He didn't care that he was staring. Why would he when she was his to look at?

Sitting opposite the man, Natalia had managed to overcome some of her tension. She looked anywhere else but the man.

Occasionally, she would steal glances at the shameless King, but say nothing. The mercenary felt at ease just sitting this close to him.

She never knew that she could feel this comfortable doing nothing. Even the silence that had settled between them felt serene.

Hence, she made herself comfortable. Since she was no longer running around in a bid to escape, she stayed put.
