"W-who are you? Why… why are you saving us?" Isabelle said while she witnessed how the maniac driver begged for mercy.
The situation turned upside down because of the man who suddenly appeared. After he punched the windshield, broken glass scattered throughout the car.
It brought chaos and trauma to the little girls as they witnessed everything.
"Get them! I will handle this thing in my own hands!" he said with conviction and sincerity.
Through his exceptional looks, Isabelle was hypnotized. She had never seen a man who possessed a complex, yet perfect face in her whole life.
If only they romantically crossed their paths, Isabelle wouldn't forget it until they met again. But instead of thinking it that way, she suddenly remembered the little angels on the passenger's seat.
Isabelle held her breath, looking at them but it was too late to save Anna and Anne on the verge of death.
The kidnappers were holding a pocket knife. The twins were crying because of fear that melted her heart.
"Don't move!" One of the kidnappers shouted. But Isabelle was eager to save them as she tried to get off of the car. "I said, don't move!" This time around, he placed the tip of the pocket knife to the neck of Anna.
It was terrifying to a girl like her. Anna was too young to experience such traumatizing experiences in hands of bad people.
Her knees were trembling as she did her best to reach Isabelle's hands. However, the more she tried to escape, the deepened the kidnapper pointed out the knife into her neck.
Anna was crying because of fear and pain. She had lost her parents, she was still in the process of moving on, but she couldn't understand why she had to get through such terror.
"D-don't… don't move, Anna! I… I will save you! Do you understand? I will save you both!" Isabelle told her to be calm.
If something provoked the kidnappers, they won't hesitate to slash their necks and escape as soon as possible.
"Don't move!"
"I said don't move!"
The kidnappers warned Isabelle. Despite the eagerness beneath her chest, she had no choice but to do whatever they wanted. If she truly wanted to keep the children safe and alive, she must be anxious and smart.
While the stranger handled the driver who was trying to escape, the two kidnappers opened the door and brought the children out of the car.
No one dared to help them, most of the people who passed by ignored the incident as they feared being hurt and dying.
The sadness in their eyes shattered Isabelle's heart. She didn't know how to protect Anna and Anne from danger. She was breathing heavily, waiting for the perfect time to summon the stranger. It seemed like he defeated the maniac driver easily.
"Don't call him if you want to save these children!"
Isabelle was threatened by the merciless kidnappers. She didn't want to b careless or the twins would be dead just like their parents.
She breathed heavily, gritting her teeth because of anger. Her feet tried to make a move, but she must obey them no matter what happened.
"I won't move! I… I'll do whatever you want me to do, but please, please don't hurt the kids. Do you understand?"
The kidnappers chuckled when they saw how she obeyed their orders. Isabelle looked like a slave who would always do her master's commands.
"That's right! That's right if you don't want to be hurt, leave them alone and save yourself! We only need them, right George?"
"Yes! What are you waiting for? Run! Run, before I change my mind!"
But Isabelle didn't want to lose another chance, other precious lives while she had the power to protect them.
For a moment, she remained silent, listening to the deafening sound of her heart. Her chest was filled with a heavy burden that no one could understand. There was a strange part of her, forcing her to care about other people's lives.
Eight years ago, she woke up with a missing part of her body and soul. She didn't know what it was all about, but she was certain that there was something special she'd forgotten.
"No! I must help them! I must do whatever it takes!" She whispered as the warm wind blew up her hair.
As the warm breeze touched her skin, Isabelle suddenly felt strong energy that flowed into her veins. She bowed her head, closing her eyes for a second while the kidnappers continued chuckling.
Before she looked into twins, Isabelle opened her eyes that frightened of the bad people behind Anna and Anne. Their knees were trembling confused Isabelle out of nowhere.
"H-her eyes! It… it changed into something red!" The man who took Anne stated with fear in his eyes. He had never seen a woman who had a different eyes color and suddenly changed out of the blue.
He looked into the man next to him, shivering as it frightened him. "L-let's run… let's run away, Jordan! That woman is no ordinary!"
Anna and Anne were left speechless when the kidnappers loosened up the grip on their necks. They quickly caught a glimpse of Isabelle's face out of curiosity. The moment they had realized one thing, both of them lifted their legs and kicked off the bad men's private part.
"Miss beautiful!" Anna exclaimed and ran closer to Isabelle.
"Miss… Miss beautiful!" Anne wrapped her arms around her waist that awakened Isabelle from a short daydream. She didn't know why the kidnappers suddenly ran away the moment they looked into her burning, red eyes.
Isabelle blinked her eyes the moment she felt the twins' warm embrace. She wasn't sure why it changed abruptly.
"What… what happened? Why… why did they run away just like that?" She asked the innocent children, but instead of getting a serious response, Anna and Anne giggled taking away the fear beneath her defenseless chest.
After a couple of minutes, the jaw-dropping savior walked closer to Isabelle, sighing heavily. He looked exhausted as he fought against a barbaric member of a strong syndicate.
He cleared his throat and said, "Are you okay? How about the kids?"
"We're all fine because of you. Thank you for saving us, Mister." Isabelle thanked him sincerely. Without his help, it could be dangerous and there was no assurance that they will be safe.
The stranger smiled at her and tilted his head as an answer. He was about to leave the area when Isabelle grabbed his hand.
"Do you have something to tell me?" He asked her formally, but deep inside of his chest, he wanted to wrap his arms around her waist and felt her touch once again.
Isabelle was taken aback because of her action. But she had to do something before he realized that her action was unexpected.
Only to save her pride, Isabelle smiled at him.
"Come with us, Mister. I owe you something and I want to repay your kindness as well." She replied that stunned the stranger.
His eyes suddenly filled with happiness when he looked into her eyes like what he did that night before their paths separated away.
"Don't worry, Isabelle. I am here to protect you, and now that I'd finally found you, no one could ever stop us anymore." He whispered as he secretly stared into her tantalizing eyes.
