"Where were you, Kiara?" Alpha Frederick asked, frowning.

Kiara knew he must have smelt the scent of murder around her. Thankfully, it wasn't possible to know the actual thing killed so it would be easy to come up with something.

"I am sorry, sweetheart. I… I just can't sit at home while my daughter-in-law is missing. I don't want to see my son in grief so I decided to search for her anywhere. I searched everywhere but couldn't find her" Kiara said, then stopped to wipe her tears.

Alpha Frederick's heart was already changing just seeing her tears. He was blaming himself for thinking Kiara wasn't attentive towards the issues in the castle. How could he forget she had always taken care of the castle's household affairs?

" So, I turned around to come back home but I was ambushed by two dangerous wolves which I managed to fight with but they escaped. I don't know how they got into the pack," She concluded, sniffling.
