TRINITY
Every little thing makes me feel irritated even the slightest sound made from the water makes me feel on the edge. I throw on tantrums from just every little thing. I can't control my anger. I can't take control of my emotion. I am just so blinded by rage every single time. My every emotion touch, sense, and smell were all heightened to a level where it just deemed impossible to control.
I have no idea how long I can stay sane for. I don't want to hurt anybody but I also want to go back and see my family. I miss them, but I can't. I am dead to them. Trinity L. Maas is dead. I am now a monster without a beating heart locked away from the world where I once called home and am forced to live in a society that I never knew exist, illegally. My freedom has stripped away from me. My liberty to live a blissful life has been tucked shut, thrown away into the dark abyss. I will never be able to get it back, and it was all due to a mistake.
My whole entire life has been flipped upside down with nowhere to control all these unwanted desires that have been built up inside of me. These urges. The temptation. They are all so alluring to fall into. However, I must resist. I must abstain from doing what I know it is wrong to do rather than falling into this sweet trap of the monster inside of me capable of doing this but-
I want to see her one last time.
I want to look at her smile one more time.
I want to be able to pat her on the head and hug her giving her comfort one more time before I say my last goodbye.
I want to go back to everything the way it was before- My hearing sharpened as if a radio was playing in slow motion on a full-on loudspeaker hearing every tiny ding and dong the elevator was stopping people scratching their head, some pulling out their smartphones, and woman getting their mirror out of their pocket putting their gloss. When eventually the elevator reached the ninth floor, a familiar footstep walked closer and closer to this very room.
Anger rose inside of me and I hid in a corner behind the entrance trying to hold back the bloodlust within me and when the door opens I jumped in trying to attack. However, when Jonas looked at me with his blood-red eyes my body began to tremble. He sighed putting a bag of his groceries down to the floor.
"Are you still not be able to do it like the last time?" he asked.
I shook my head. "I can't."
He sighs again. "Your due date is almost up. If you don't show-"
"I get it," I said deadpanned. "I'm already dead."
"Still no markings like the last time?" he tried.
"No." All my answers are going to be god damn no. I can't remember that time where I've gone berserk. When I have come to a dead guy was beside me and I accidentally blew up a cathedral with nothing left but pebbles of rocks and stones. I was so confused and my body was filled with unexplainable powers and strength. At that time Jonas was quivering in fear not from the shock of the explosion but by my presence alone. There was a strange mark that came twirling out of my body burning bright like it was freshly seared into me, but I was unharmed. I didn't felt any pain or suffocated from the mark but power.
Jonas has been telling me to summon that kind of power once again and present it to the court of vampires so they'll give me the chance to be accepted to live and gain citizenship to live in this supernatural society peacefully. Since rarely newly turned vampires don't have the power I presented to Jonas and the vampire society is running out of strong soldiers, but from the last time I've gone mad with the newfound powers, I was not able to do it again.
He couldn't look straight into my eyes. "I'll try to talk to them to give you more time. It's clearly my fault that I got you into this mess."
"Sure you do, asshole," I bite back his words. He grimaced and we stood silent for a while. I would have stayed mad for eternity but ever since that explosion and was exposed to the vampiric court Jonas was the one who jumped out to defend me. He was willing to face the punishment with me. It was against their law for any supernatural to turn any human into one of them. This law is absolute and if this was to happened the turned human will face the death penalty and the suspect will lock and tortured for eternity. So if I can't show the prowess of my ability my life and Jonas imprisonment will face execution.
"Hey Trinity," he called cutting the awkward silence between us and use his gentle voice which it was hard for me to stay mad at him. "You tried to get out of this building again, didn't you?" he asked. I gulped my saliva. "I can smell your blood around my apartment again."
"Why did you bother asking if you knew the answer?" I answer rhetorically.
"I needed to be sure," he defended.
"Well, you just got your answer." Annoyed by all this supernatural shit and the so-called witch who was guarding this building and not letting me out of this apartment by a single step.
Jonas stayed silent for a little while looking at me which was leaving making this a little space uncomfortable. "Hey Trinity, there has been a new update regarding your imprisonment. The court has granted you the freedom to venture into our society and the human but under one condition."
I arched my eyebrow suspiciously at him. "What is it?"
"You need to stick by me 24/7."
I smirk. "That's it?" This is going to easy.
"Wipe off that smirk on your face, Trinity," he smiles. "And besides whatever is going through that head of yours ain't happening."
"Oh, yea... please tell me what I am thinking because I am not thinking about anything."
"Cut the shit out, Trinity. I have not been your childhood friend for anything. You're going to try and outrun me, but tell you what, Claudia the witch has placed a spell that binds you with me. Which means wherever I go you'll go and not unless you get strict permission from me to let you go until then you can't go anywhere," he laughs.
"And what if I don't?" I played.
"The same punishment that you had last fifteen minutes ago electrified, and we vampires, hates anything that has to do with heat, and I believe that you tested that out numerous times. Seriously, I don't get why like getting tortured so much," he flashed a devilish smile. I shrugged my shoulder reluctantly. "Do we have a deal?" he compromised.
I groaned. Well, it is better than remained and be stuck in this apartment the whole entire day. I am going to enjoy my day to the last. I feel sorry for Jonas for being my best friend, but I am going to have my kind of fun whether he likes it or not. So I fixed my expression and pretended to be the good girl I should be. I am going to see my family, friends and Jada.
"Deal."
