บท 442: Chapter 439 - Pawn in Her Game

Her husband's soothing voice came from the other side, and his tone tinged with worry.

"Medea? Are you okay?" Bradley repeated when the woman didn't immediately reply.

"I will come home soon." Medea replied, fighting a stream of unwanted feelings rushing to her chest as her hand that held the phone beside her ear had begun to tremble. "Don't worry about me."

Another silence came following her reply. Medea bit her lower lip, picking on her own nails rather anxiously.

"Is that so...." Bradley muttered somewhat in a dispirited voice. "Alright then. I will wait for you home. Take care on your way."

Without saying anything else, Medea hung up on their call and carelessly threw her phone on the bed, sighing as she strode away from there.

Nobody, and no kind of words could describe the feelings that persistently lingered in her heart.
