Clyde briefly read the message then shoved his new phone back into his pocket. His somber gaze returned to the two figures talking near the table he reserved for Gabriel, not sure what he should do if his theory came out as true.

Running his fingers through the dark strands of his hair, the Alpha exhaled a deep breath. Just what kind of fate brought them to this point? 

When his phone vibrated again, he immediately swiped the green button.

"What do you want me to do later?" Gabriel's frustrated voice came from the other side. "I swear if this is just your sick prank I will—"

"Just pretend that you don't know Ryley and his doctor friend later."

Hearing the serious reply, Gabriel bent down while scratching the back of his head that didn't feel itchy. "What the fuck do you actually want from me? Can't you just tell me the reason—"
