"You did that to him?" Sebastian felt the need to ask, but he stayed quiet when the fox cub's eyes leveled into a questioning glare. He swallowed the rest of his words, and the fox gracefully moved on his four feet, jumping onto the window sill and staring mindlessly at the moon-lit garden below.
"I intend to do worse." The fox answered wittingly, his tone shifting ominously to what Sebastian confirmed to be a wild pending torture. When the chief guard kept stating he couldn't stop hitting himself until he confessed, he immediately suspected that his master was behind that revelation.
What he couldn't understand was the killing of those guards that night, and unfortunately, he was too scared to inquire about it.
"If you wanted the maiden, you could have easily apprehended her." Sebastian thought out loud, "why go through the trouble of planning all of these tactics?"
