"Yes, I know," Nicholas said, wiping Rissa's tears. "We do not have to think too far. We just live it as it is. I won't force it if you do not really have the same feelings for me. I also won't be angry if you find another man, and then you fall in love with that man. That is up to you because for me, loving you is enough. As long as I can see you happy, I'm happy too."

Rissa then hugged Nicholas tightly. "Then what is our status?"

"Brother and sister," Nicholas replied with a chuckle.

"Seriously? So, our status is only brother and sister?"

"Yes, dear. I'm curious about your mind, by the way," said Nicholas with a smile.

Rissa felt even sadder to hear that answer, but she also had to be aware that this would never go well. Nicholas is right; just live as it is. They've been like this all year. And it will stay like this forever.
